Commonly known as red hot pokers this dramatic plant has long flower spikes that are strong and sturdy, with many little orange and red flowers that fade to yellow.

This plant is ideal for a center piece and is external rewarding for the everyday gardener who may not have much time to care for this plant. It is also drought tolerant.
It requires free draining soil and plenty of sun.
You could have a collection of different specimen so you could witness colour from spring to autumn.
They can grow up to 1.3m high and 75cm wide.

The most popular cultivar is Kniphofia atlanta which have huge flower spikes and flower from late spring to late summer.
