AISLING POV
I had the best day of my life. And I definitely ruined it with the tought of that girl Alex likes.
That one frog face girl...ugh!
As promised he got the jersey delivered to me yesterday evening. It's a red and white jersey with Alex name and number written boldy at the back of the jersey.
The tournament isn't until this Saturday.
"Am just saying there is no way I will team up with that guy. Zayn Steinfield"
I totally forgot about Adrian and Andy. Really there is no lunch without Adrian repeating how much he despise Zayn.
Zayn seem cool. Not that have met the guy but he seems cool to me
"You might as well accept the choice of not graduating" Andy suggests.
"That I would" He huffs pushing his fries at me.
Adrian should get mad more often during lunch because that means extra fries for me. Awesome!
"Did you just say you would rather not graduate?" I ask in between fries.
"I mean yes. No! Just because I am in the same group as STEINFELD and we have to work together which am against. Doesn't mean I don't want to graduate"
"Make up your mind dude"
"I just did because I am going to do that assignment on my own without Steinfield involved"
"Do you still want your coke?" I ask him.
Please say no. Please say no.
"Yes!"
"Fuck you" I curse "Zayn seems cool I don't why you have a problem with the guy"
I immediately regret saying that because Adrian just took his fries all of it I mean ALL OF IT!
"Obviously because he didn't steal your boyfriend. Oh! Wait he is straight." He barks out with a scowl on his face.
Am guessing he woke up on the wrong side of his bed this morning.
"And don't forget that he is her crush best friend too" Andy adds.
"You were literally just against Adrian and now because you have his fries you're both against me. Not fair"
She shrugs "Life is not fair babe" She adds sending me a wink.
"Of course." Adrian agrees. "Why else would she not support him?" He snorts.
"You people are crazy" I tell them "Am just saying because you and Zayn seem to not get along doesn't mean--"
"We don't seem to not get along. We are never going to get along" Adrian declare cutting me off.
He definitely woke up on the wrong side.
"Alright" I raise both hands up. "I give up trying"
"But you know--"
"He doesn't wanna talk about it Clark"
Andy smiles from across the table."Thank you Andy"
I roll my eyes at the both of them taking more interest in my burger than any of them. Something catch my attention. Adrian gripping his can coke so tight the poor coke is in pain.
If he had just given me the coke wouldn't have to go through tough time.
I follow his line of vision. Settling on Zayn and they both seem to be in some sort of glaring competition with no one ready to back off soon.
This is crazy. They are crazy.
But am definitely not interested in their staring contest as I make eye contact with the blue eye boy smiling at me. I mouth an 'hey' smiling back.
"You guys should probably talk about this if you don't want to fail" Andy suggest. Oh good! she noticed too.
Adrian breaks the eye contact with Zayn shooting Andy a deadly glare before making a dramatic exit by grabbing his fries from her and storming out of the cafeteria with Zayn behind him.
"Why give me your fries when you will have them back?. That's not fair" Andy call out.
I smirk at her.
"Please don't say Life is not fair babe" she reply quick.
I found myself laughing at her.
"You're showing up for the game this Saturday right?" Andy ask picking her bag for our next class
"Where else would I be?"
"Sleeping away your sorrows duh" OK that is slightly true.
"Am afraid I might not make it to the game?" Her words were grief-stricken and she tried to hide it with a smile "Even if I don't make it. I know you and Adrian are going to do have a good time without me on Saturday. Am not sure-" She pause like she's having an inner argument whether to tell me or not "Never mind" She shrug.
"I don't understand you" I reach over to lay my hand on her shoulder "Are you okay?."
What's with all this gone too soon rest in peace message.
Andy has never been the one to share her problems no matter how hard have tried to get her to open up to me. She just doesn't.
I know we are best friends but not every body is comfortable sharing their deepest secret with people even close friends. And Andy is one of those people.
She has always been so perfect when it comes to masking her emotions. I mean I don't get her. Am her best friend and we are supposed to share our secrets and support each other.
Jeez! I can't believe I just said that when clearly I have been keeping the secret of being intimated by Tasha from Andy for the past two years.
But that's different. I need to talk to her about this. We can't be keep on doing this and we call each other best friends.
"I know--" I start but as usual she wave me off.
"Oh my god! Look at the time. Am already late for class. I will see you later Clark"
She scurried away from me.I didn't make any move to run after her or stop her.
Let's do this the violent way. Invite her for a movie tonight. Stick a knife under her throat . With a deep scary assassin voice. "Tell me your secret Andy or I stab us"
I shake my head laughing like a maniac in the middle of the hallway.
I would never do that. If Andy really wants to talk about it. She would let me know.
Maybe she isn't ready yet.
I watch her disappear down the hall with Melissa by her side. Her orange hair blobbing up and now.
And I try to convince myself. My best friend is fine.
Until....
