*ALL TMI BELONGS TO CASSANDRA CLARE*

I am woken from my short nap by the loud sound of someone desperately pounding on Magnus' front door. I get up quickly from the couch, grabbing my bow as I do, and make my way quietly towards the source of the noise.
"Magnus?" Begs a female voice from the other side. "I can hear you inside and if you don't open this door-" I don't even wanna risk what will happen to me so I fling the door open, taking a step back as I do. "Finally! How dare you wait so long Mag-" the young girl cuts off after seeing me and takes a step back in shock.
"Uh, Magnus is out at the moment," I tell her, still confused at the pained and worried expression on her face. I take in her appearance with mild curiosity. She has long, mousy, brown hair and looks to be about nineteen. She wears light coloured skinny jeans, a black sweater similar to my own and a frayed- most likely a cheap knockoff- red, vintage scarf. She also wears a slightly discoloured, silver clockwork angel on a chain around her neck.
I look up from her black, converse shoes and realise that she has also been looking at me and I am suddenly self conscious.
"Um, I've been asleep. My hair isn't usually like, uh, this." I finish lamely, looking back down at my own feet.
"Alec" Tessa exhales softly and a small smile plays at her lips. I am momentarily confused as to why this young stranger knows my name, although she does look slightly familiar. "I'm sorry for my rudeness as I arrived," the girl says softly. "You just look so much like, well never mind that, I'm Tessa. Tessa Gray."

"Oh, of course you are, Magnus has told me a lot about you." I say in realisation. "Well, yeah uh, I am Alec. It's good to finally meet you Tessa." I tell her. As I speak I remember that of course she is a warlock so her scarf must be really from the 18-1900s, just like some of Magnus' clothing is. "Anyway why did you need Magnus?" I ask her casually.
"Oh right. There are just a few issues I need his help with," she says carefully. "Do you know when he'll be back?" She asks me.
"Uh, he went out to get some ingredients for a tricky spell for a client. I'll check if you'd like." I say, slipping my phone out of my pocket to send a quick text to my warlock. His reply is almost immediate.

A: Hey Magnus, any idea what time you'll be home?

M: Missing me already sweet pea?

A: What did I say about not calling me sweet pea! Anyway Tessa Gray is here. She looks kind of upset and I think the door may need repairing after how hard she knocked.

M: I'm on my way.

"Magnus is on his way now," I tell Tessa cautiously. She smiles gratefully but also looks extremely awkward. It takes me a moment to realise that she is still standing in the doorway, waiting for me to let her inside. "Oh man, come in, I'm so sorry," I stutter out an apology and step back to allow Tessa to actually enter the apartment.

"Alexander Lightwood. I don't think anyone has ever meant so much to Magnus quite like you do. Thankyou for that," says Tess after taking a seat on the couch. The confession surprises me and I'm about to reply when I hear the front door open with a click.
"I'll be right back," I tell Tess and I move back towards the door. A very colourful Magnus walks in, cheeks red from the cold and grins when he sees me. I am so happy to see him that I kiss him, momentarily forgetting about Tessa who is sitting no more than three metres away, smiling fondly. Magnus looks delighted as he pulls away and gives me a wink before walking over and embracing Tessa.
"Well I see you two have met," says Magnus proudly.
