Tiffany came home and tried to lock the door behind her quietly as she thought of what to say to Dani. She'd left the gun and her alibi in the car, she'd bring it out at the right time. All she needed to do now, was think of exactly what she was going to say when--
"Hey babe, where you been?" Dani came out to Tiffany, smiling and drying a cup with a towel. She looked just...radiant. Her tee was hanging off her shoulders and she was wearing a pair of form fitting, lavender tights. Tiffany could tell she wasn't wearing a bra. She had to calm herself, remember that she had business to handle before she tried getting nasty.
"Babe...sit. We uh, need to talk." she said to Dani. Dani's expression immediately began to change into one of concern that hurt Tiffany a little. "No no no no no, come here." She quickly rushed over to her and took her hands, sitting down with her.
"Tiff what's going on? Is he back?" Dani looked utterly confused.
"No." Tiffany said. Dani still looked confused, not taking her gaze off Tiffany. "Listen...I didn't want to tell you before I left, because I knew you'd try to stop me."
Dani's confused gaze grew increasingly stronger. "Today I made a choice. This is a choice you probably really won't like, I'm gonna just tell you that straight up." By now, Dani's face was stern. It was reminiscent of confusion and skepticism. Tiffany choked on the words before she could spit them out. She closed her eyes and swallowed, finally speaking up.
"Danielle, I just brought a gun." Instantly, Dani stood up and threw Tiffany's hands down. In that split second, Dani had gone from seriously concerned to seriously pissed in a mater of seconds.
"You what?!?" Dani's tone was sharp and angry.
"Dani--"
"No, no. NO!" she turned on her heels and glared at Tiffany, who was almost cowering, shocked at her tone. "Why would you think to even try to ask me if I'd let you bring something like that in the house??!"
Tiffany couldn't even give an answer. She knew she'd be angry but not at a nuclear level.
"And how long have you head your permit and you weren't going to tell me? Or was that gonna stay a secret too?" At this point, all Tiffany could do was stammer. Dani gave her the death stare.
"I can't believe you, Tiffany. I can't." She crossed her arms, pissed. Tiffany looked down, and prepared to speak.
"I don't want him hurting either one of us. I'll kill him first." Tiffany said, not taking her eyes off of Dani. This made Dani give pause and turn to look at Tiffany in the eyes again, back to looking concerned but still angry. "You think I'm kidding?"
Dani's voice turned soft. "I don't believe you," she said. "You wanted to see how I'd react."
Tiffany simply gave a nod, got up, and walked out the front door without saying a word. Dani got up and looked out the window to watch Tiffany. She retrieved a paper bag with handles out of the car, then came back up the steps and walked into the house. Tiffany calmly sat down, and pulled out a box, then a case from the box. Inside of the box was a silver revolver. Dani gasped and jumped back.
"It's okay, it isn't loaded." Tiffany took it out and opened the chamber, giving it a spin . Sure enough, no bullets were in inside. She pushed the chamber back in place and put the gun back. Dani stood there quiet for a few minutes staring at it in shock inside the case. Tiffany watched her as she held her breath, waiting to see what she was about to say. It was a strange stare off.
