Roscoe was leaving today. And he would be gone until Halloween. Nia had come to terms with it, but it was still eating her up that he was leaving. But she had secured a lot in these few short weeks that had gone by. Her brand was being launched tonight at midnight. She would call it Closet Space?. She was super excited because Angel and Delaney had really been helpful with their connections and their support.
"Bae you ready to go?". Nia walked into the room.
Roscoe was holding a picture of him and Nia on one of their first dates.
"Babe what's wrong?". Nia sat down next to him.
"I feel bad. Leaving you here like dis. I love you so much and I'm just leaving you to go DJ". He sighed.
"Bae, I told you. I want you to go on this tour and spread your name like wildfire. And when you make it big, you'll have tours of your own. And do you know where I'm gonna be?". She smiled reassuringly.
"Where?". He asked.
"Backstage cheering you on. Or on stage, where ever you need me to be. So go, get recognized and make me proud". She kissed his cheek.
He grinned.
"Ok. Now let's go before you miss your flight". Nia stood up.
They left the apartment and headed for the front door.

They arrived at the airport and Nia felt this lump in her throat begin to develop. It would be hard not seeing Roscoe every day, not feeling him next to her at night. But this was for the better, she kept telling herself.
She walked with him through bag check and TSA. Finally, they had arrived at his gate.
The lump in Nia's throat was growing larger and larger until she felt like she couldn't talk.
"Babe don't cry on me man". He placed his duffle bag in a nearby chair.
"I'm gonna miss you". She pulled him into a hug.
They stayed that way for a while, as she cried into his hoodie.
"Listen, I'm gon call you every chance I get. And we gon facetime when I can. Of course no bullshit. I love you too much and we came too far for some fuck shit to ruin it. I love you girl. And when I get back I'mma spoil you and we gon celebrate yo accomplishments. You make me proud every day". He whispered to her.
Nia wiped her eyes and nodded.
"Ok. Go before you miss your flight". She sniffled.
"I love you, Nia. Don't chu ever forget dat". He held her face in his hands.
"I love you too bae". She gave him a sad smile.
He picked up his bag and handed the flight attendant his boarding pass and disappeared into the tunnel to his plane.

Nia had called Jameer and Anaya to meet her for dinner. She knew she needed to talk to them after everything that had happened. After Jameer was released from jail, they hadn't had time to talk and Nia was dodging their calls for the past two weeks. But now, she needed to clean house.
She pulled up to the cafe and picked a table at the back of the establishment. She ordered a coffee for herself and waited on them to show up.
Shortly, the two arrived together.
"Hey y'all". She waved to them.
"Wassup Nia, we were starting to think you forgot all about us ever since you bailed me out". Jameer began.
"Yeah, that's what I wanted to talk about. I've been busy these past few weeks, getting my stuff together and starting my brand and a whole lot of other stuff like copyrighting and business licenses. But I called you two here to tell you, I need to break off from this". Nia spoke carefully.
"So you cutting us off?". Anaya snarled.
"Not completely, but for the sake of my mental health I need to do what is best for me". Nia continued.
"Honestly Nia, save it. You walk round here like you high and mighty wit your mental health this and positivity that. But your no better than the rest of us. Your just like me and Anaya". Jameer spat.
"I understand y'all are upset. But I can't keep putting myself in a position where I have to be responsible for the three of us. I have a brand to protect now, I can't bail this one out of jail at two in the morning anymore or I can't get into shouting matches over the decisions that one makes. I want better for myself and for y'all. I'm not on the high school bullshit anymore, I want to change and be different". Nia expelled all her emotions.
"Anaya you got anything to say?". Jameer looked to Anaya who was surprisingly quiet.
"Honestly, who the hell are we to hold her back. If she wanna go then go. But when this lil positive brand shit blow up in yo face, don't come looking for us when your positive lil hoes Angel and Delaney and Jaziah desert cho ass". Anaya spewed angrily.
"Well, that's how y'all feel. I wish y'all nothing but the best and I will always be here for you guys". Nia stood up.
She paid for her coffee and headed over to Roscoe and Shaun's apartment.

She walked in and Shaun was on the couch watching Netflix.
"Hey, Shaun. Wassup?". Nia sighed.
"Anaya called. You cut them off?". He questioned.
"I had to. They are still acting like we're in high school. I get that not everybody matures at the same rate but things are changing and my outlook on things are changing. I'm not the same girl they met in tenth grade".She explained.
"I feel you. She forbid me from talking to you by the way. Which is dumb because she doesn't own me and I was friends with you first before me and her started dating, so I told her to call me in the morning when she cools off". He huffed.
"I hope things get better between you two. It will, with time". She reassured him.
"I guess, but what chu up to tonight?". He changed the subject.
"Actually, I've come to give you these". She handed him the house keys.
"The keys? I thought you were staying until Roscoe got back?". He questioned.
"I was but my brand launches in less than four hours and it's gonna be hectic. Plus, I need my own space to brainstorm and design and do all that needs to be done. So, I'll be outta your hair for a while".
"Alright cool, and where is my invite to the launch party?". He folded his arms.
"Aw, Shaun you know I could never forget about you. Here, you can bring Anaya as your plus one". Nia stood up.
"Cool. I'll talk to her about it in the morning. Your gonna do great things, Nia". He hugged her.
"Thanks, Shaun, it means a lot". She grinned.
And with that note, she stood up and headed home.

Hey y'all! So Nia is literally coming to an end. It will be ending in the next chapter or two depending on what I'm able to plan out. I've been writing Nia for almost a year, and when you're invested in something for so long, things get kind of old and the same so I decided after some thinking that I wanna end this book and take a break from Wattpad. This won't be a permanent break but just a couple months to gather myself and work on my writing technique. Thank y'all so much for supporting me and my work, it means a lot.
