Sadie Fischer had a kind face, it would be shocking if you ever found out what she was associated to. She had light brown skin and a slick, black tied ponytail. Wearing a rough, grey pantsuit. The greatest feature on her face were her bushy eyebrows, somehow her almond, brown eyes fit well with it. Right now she looked friendly in a cautious manner, my knife was itching to be used.
Jerry stood there, frozen, like a perfectly painted butter sculpture. I tugged his hand to get him to come alive. Jerry blinked and then opened his mouth, only to have nothing come out. Great, now he's frozen and mute. I jumped in, I hated to do it but I had to save Jerry.
"Atlantis." I reached out my hand.
"Pleasure to meet you." Sadie looked relieved the meeting wasn't as silent now.
Twinkle saw what I was up to and joined in.
"Robert Solis, your leadership is most impressive." He shook her hand.
"Thank you, Mr. Solis, that is most kind." Sadie stopped shaking his hand "Let's go in and discuss your journey, shall we?"
Jerry unfroze and nodded a bit too eagerly "Yes! Let's!" He pleaded.
Walking into the building, the crowd cheered again.
"That was quick thinking, good job." Jesse whispered to me.
Once the door closed and everyone was in there, Sadie welcomed Jerry into her office. The rest of us sat in the red couches in some type of hall. A receptionist seemed to guard Sadie's office. Sitting, there a faint noise of shouting came from her office. I was on the edge of my seat, she could be stabbing Jerry and none of us would be doing anything! I was sitting next to Twinkle and Bradley. Twinkle saw that I was on the edge of my seat and shook his head, he knew what I was thinking. Allen sat on the opposite side of the room with other people his age. It felt like Joseph could be in the crowd, but when I scanned all their faces, not one looked like Joseph's.
Thirty minutes had passed, nothing has changed, everyone was still seated there. Some survivors were chatting, Jesse and Twinkle were talking about Jerry. Since Bradley was sitting next to me, I decided to chat with him.
"So how's it going with Maddie, anything good?" I elbowed him.
"She likes the multitaskers." Bradley sighed.
"Why are you so down?"
"You know, what if she doesn't like me?"
"Brad, she couldn't stop blushing when she's near you."
"Maybe she was embarrassed of my company."
"Is that even possible?"
"I don't know! Yes?"
"You were yourself, and she liked it! That's literally as simple as it seems!"
"What if Cameron said she liked girls because she didn't like me." He bit his nails "It was so easy being a confident person because I was just wearing some sort of mask, I was a jerk to you."
"She definitely didn't like you when you had that personality but it was a friend type of not like. She didn't blush when you were with her as a friend."
"She did!"
"When?"
"When she was with you!"
"Brad! Stay on topic!"
"Why are we still whispering? This place is getting louder!"
It was true, the impatient crowd was getting louder.
