"Hmm? Did you hear me, Sephie? Did you?"A brief pause allowed for Angelica to take a deep breath, "Sephie?"
"Angelica.."
"Yes, Sephie?"
"Shut up."
Angelica had been chattering a mile a minute ever since she saw Weasley's embarrassing fiasco at breakfast this morning.
"But you saw him, Sephie! You saw him! He was blushing again" Angelica teased her younger sister. She grinned mischievously and nudged her side, slightly knocking the younger girl off balance, "He was all red in the face for you!"
"And quite beanie too", quipped Blaise Zambini, as he walked up beside them in the hallway. He draped an arm across Persephone's shoulder and bops her nose.
Persephone chooses to ignore them. Ron Weasley was absolutely not beanie for her! Was he?
Taking the lead, Angelica took a few quick steps forward and twirled around, walking backwards as she addressed Blaise. The other students in the hallway complained as she bumped into them without apologizing, "Did you see it, though? Did you see that cheeky little smile she gave him?"
"Of course I saw it, you're quite the cheeky little flirt, you!" Blaise says imitating Angelica and joining in on the teasing.
It was just a smile, though. A fraction of a smile, really. She was only being friendly. Honest! Persephone's heart pounds faster in her chest as she suddenly rethinks all the past interactions she's had with Ron Weasley. Did he think she was ever flirting with him? Is that why he doesn't talk to her? Was she flirting with him?
Persephone watches as Angelica animatedly marches backward humming the wedding tune. Her hands begin to sweat and she rubs them along her robes. Did she flirt with Ron Weasley?
Angelica's march suddenly veers to left towards a wall.
"Watch it, Angelica!" Persephone warns as she gets close to bumping into a portrait of a woman known to have quite a nasty attitude on the wall.
"You'd better watch it or else you'll have Weasley bending down on one knee before the term is over", she tuts back.
Having heard enough, Persephone ducks out from under Blaise's arm and turns quickly to get out to the courtyard,"Oi, Sephie! We're just having a laugh!"
"You can run now, Sephie, but sooner or later you won't be able to run from your swarm of red haired, green eyed beanie babies", Angelica shouts after her.
Angelica is so annoying.

Persephone was trailing far behind the Slytherin house as they headed out to greet their foreign visitors. She was so far behind that they weren't even in her line of sight anymore, not that she cared. She didn't have any real interest in meeting the other two school at all but she still trudged forward anyway.
Just... very slowly.
A sharp tug on the back of her skirt halted Persephone in her tracks, "Hey, Sephie. Where you headed?"
Without turning around completely, Persephone calls over her shoulder, "The same place you're supposed to be, Dion."
"Nah, I haven't really got slightest interest in this tri-what's-it. Me and a couple lads are going out to the forbidden forest for a quick smoke, you want to come?" He offers tugging at her skirt again until she turns to face him. He leans against the wall with his arms folded, his wand tucked haphazardly behind his ear. He tugs on her skirt a few times more and it slides down lower than Persephone likes.
Holding the waistband of her skirt up in one hand, Persephone uses the other shoo him off of her uniform. It was a habit he developed last year. She didn't mind him doing it when the circumstances were right but this was definitely not the time.
"No" she answers curtly as usual.
Dion nods, tucking his hands in his trouser pockets, "You gonna see me later, tonight?"
"No" she answers again.
"You alright, Persephone?" He ask standing to his full height, towering head and shoulders above her. His eyes searching her face for an obvious answer. Dion knew the younger girl since his third year and her first year. They'd fallen into a bit of a routine since the last term, when they first began experimenting together. Being each other's first (and so far only), they formed a type of unbreakable bond. He knew her better than anyone else in the world and he definitely knew when something was off with her.
He knew that without fail, every month when she finished her cycle she would practically crave a physical connection barely a few days after- nearly desperate for it. A week had already passed since the end of her last cycle and she had made no attempt to even see him.
It might seem like he's only invested in her physically but the truth is that Persephone Wonderweiss is quite simple.
She wasn't nearly as complex as people thought her to be. When she's hungry she eats. When she's tired she sleeps. When she finishes her cycle she wants sex.
Simple.
So when one plus one doesn't equal two, Dion knows something is wrong.
"Why didn't you come to breakfast?" She ask looking up into his eyes.
He shrugs his shoulders, "I slept in. Why?"
He had such a good dream last night. It was so good.
So good...
"Angelica gets annoying when you're not there", Persephone says lowly, glancing off to the side.
"She's still going on about Weasley's little crush?" Dion asked heatedly, feeling extremely defensive of the small girl in front of him.
Persephone just shrugs, "Yeah, I wish she would let it go".
She rocks back and forth on heels, a blank look in her eyes. Despite her simple nature, Persephone's outward appearance hardly ever gave away her true feelings. It was always that same neutral face with those big wondering green eyes.
Dion sighs and shakes his head, "Angelica can be a real git when she wants to be, itnit?"
"Just come to breakfast from now on, okay?", Persephone says simply looking up at the boy.
"Breakfast, lunch and dinner" Dion promises.
