{Back home}

"Hi Shirley, can I speak to Grace for a second? It's urgent!"

"Yes of course, I'll tell her you're on the phone, wait a second."

After a few moments, I hear Grace on the phone.

"Hi Julia, what's up?"

"Are you free today? To, you know, find out where you-know-who lives?"

"Watch out! Your parents might hear you!"

"My parents aren't home, and besides, they wouldn't care anyway!"

"Hm... I'm free today. Meet up at the park near the school in 20?"

"Ace. See you there!"

I hang up and immediately get ready to leave the house. I take the house keys, in case I get home before my parents do, and storm out of the house.

Where are you Annette?

{Skip walk to park}

"Julia! Over here!" I hear Grace scream.

I walk up to her and hug her. When we release from the hug, Grace tells me she has an idea.

"Do you know where we can find a telephone book?"

"The library probably has one, do you think Annette's phone number might be in it?"

"Yes of course! That way we can find out if she lives here in Alexandria or not!"

"That's an ace plan! Let's go!"

 With that, we rush to the library immediately, hoping we can find anything. We rush inside, and search everywhere for a telephone book.

"I can't find anything. Grace?"

"Me neither..."

We sit down between two bookracks, wondering.

"Now that I think about it, I don't think they would put a telephone book on one of these bookracks, just to make sure no one comes in, rents it, and starts calling random phone numbers to prank them."

"So...?"

"Grace, why don't you go and ask Mrs. Tokens if she has a telephone book? If I weren't in a situation where everybody hates me, then I would've stood up and ask, but eh... yeah, you know?"

"Yeah, I can dig it. Wait here, I'll be back in a second."

Grace gets up, leaving me alone between two bookracks. I start reading all the book titles, hoping I can find something interesting to read... Of Mice And Men, sounds interesting. I grab the book out of the bookrack gently. Written by John Steinbeck. Fiction, novel and tragedy... If I weren't in a position where I would be stared at in a an awkward way, I would've rented this bo-

"I'm back!"

"AAH"

"Sorry... I have the telephone book!"

I get up smiling and we head to the back of the library, where no one's around.

"Ferguson... F! We need to look through the F." I command us.

After reading and re-reading all of the names we didn't find anything.

"Jeepers" Grace exclaims frustrated, which I totally understand.

"How do we know if she's married or not? Married to another man?"

"We don't, we can read every name in this book and see if we can find an Annette?"
