you have a nightmare

You felt someone shaking you awake and you could faintly hear someone calling your name. You opened your eyes and shot up in bed. Tears streamed down your face and sweat rolled down your skin as you tried to control your breathing. "Y/n?" You heard Bella whisper your name before her hand landed on your arm, rubbing her hand up and down your skin soothingly. "You okay baby?"

You looked at her with tears in your eyes. You shook your head and she pulled you on her lap, wrapping her arms around your back as you cried. "Did you have another bad dream?" You nodded your head, too upset to speak. You've been struggling with nightmares for a while now but this one might've been the worst yet.

"It's okay. I've got you. I'm here." You rested your head on her shoulder and you felt her kiss your head. "Please don't let go of me" you mumbled and Bella nodded her head, her nails lightly scratching your back as she pressed kisses to your skin. "I won't, baby, I promise."

And she kept that promise. She held you in her arms for the rest of the night; for the time when you were awake until you finally calmed down enough to fall asleep, and even then she still didn't let you go. She eventually fell back asleep but she kept holding you the entire time, and when she woke up the next morning you felt much better, all thanks to her.
