the first time you stay the night

A loud crash of thunder caused you to jump and whip your head around to look outside the window.

You pulled the shades down, looking out to see the rain pouring down and the wind blowing the branches on the trees around aggressively. "Oh, shoot! It looks like it's gonna storm. I think I should head home before it gets too bad." You said to Bella, confused when she hit the pause button on the movie and took the shoe out of your hand.

"Bella? What are you doing?"

"Y/n, you're crazy if you think I'm gonna let you drive home right now. It's already bad out there and it's only gonna get worse. There's no way you're driving in this weather. Just... stay with me tonight instead." She intertwined your fingers with hers.

"Really?"

She nodded. "Are you tired yet? Do you wanna finish this movie or just go to bed?" She wondered and watched you shake your head. "No, I wanna finish the rest of it." You put your head on her shoulder as she laid back and continued the movie.

But about thirty minutes later, when the movie ended, Bella had noticed you were already fast asleep on her shoulder. She grinned and rubbed your back till you woke up. "Hey, beautiful. Ready for bed?"

You knuckled your eyes. "But, the movie-"

"You fell asleep. It's over, silly." She laughed and stood up, holding her hand out for you to grab, which you did with a grin. You followed her down the hall to her bedroom. You fell down on her bed, too tired to even move another inch.

"Y/n?" Bella laughed, shaking your shoulder to keep you awake for another minute or two. "Don't you wanna change into something more comfortable?" You nodded. "I don't have anything with me though."

Bella went over to her closet, grabbing one of her shirts, and tossing it to you. "Just wear this. I'm gonna go freshen up for bed. I'll be out in a minute. Just make yourself comfortable."

You watched her close the door behind her. You took off your clothes and threw them into a pile on the floor by the side of the bed that you were on. You pulled the shirt over your head, smiling when Bella's sweet scent filled your senses.

You laid back on her bed. It was hard not to fall straight asleep because it was just so comfortable and the fabric of her sheets and blankets certainly didn't help any. You watched the door open and out walked your girlfriend, all ready for a good night's sleep.

She laid down next to you, pulling the covers over herself and over you, too. "Come closer, baby girl." She smiled when you bit your lip and moved as close as you could to her. You put your head on her chest and a sigh of happiness fell from your lips as she kissed your forehead lovingly.

"Thank you for letting me stay."

Bella just smiled and rubbed your back. "Anytime, y/n. Honestly, I've been wanting to ask you to stay over for a while now I just didn't know if you were ready to. But there was no way I was gonna let you go home in this weather. I know you're safe here with me so I can sleep well, and even better than usual since you're by my side."

Bella leaned down to kiss you softly. "I love you so much, Bella."

"I love you too." She said, reaching to turn off the light. "Goodnight, y/n. Sleep well."

"Oh, I will. You're here with me, so I'll be just fine."

Bella closed her eyes, a small smile on her face.

She was definitely gonna have to ask you to stay more often.
