I stare in awe at the spray painted letters on the building. How could anybody know that? It's next to impossible, there is no record of any situation where my name and stark was mentioned in the same sentence. No news article, no tv headlines, not even from word of mouth.
"I know you're a stark? What does that even mean?" August tilted his head, reading the words.
"Obviously its a threat against Tony Stark! It doesn't make sense, but it's kind of obvious." Skylar corrected them."Guys, your home.."
August sighed. "Yeah.. I don't know how we're going to explain this to Mom.."
I noticed a familiar red person fly by my vision.Peter's POV
My spider senses told me that there was danger on the other side of town in queens.
That, and the explosion sound and smoke rising in the sky.As I approach the building closer I notice a familiar silhouette standing in the street. I swing down to the street beside y/n and a couple of her friends. Her friends jump and stare at me with wide, excited eyes. Y/n just looks at me and nods her head in a greeting, like we've known each other forever. This made me nervous. Did she know? Did she have an idea? Is she going to expose me?
"You know Tony Stark, right?"
My thoughts are directed back towards y/n.
"Um, yes ma'am, I do."
She gestures with her head towards the building. "You might wanna take a picture of that and send it to him."I look at the building and see that in big, red letters;
I know you're a stark.
I extremely confused as I looked at the letters on the side of the building. I looked at it for a while and then heard screaming, someone was stuck in the building. I very quickly swung up there and saw a young woman standing by the window. She had blonde, curly hair and looked very fit with pale skin and brown eyes.
"Please! Help me, I can't leave the door! It's hot!""Okay, ma'am please, take my hand." I offer my hand out to her and she takes it. She slowly comes closer to me and wraps her arms around my neck.
"Hang on!" I warn her, taking her tightly by the waist as I swung down to the pavement. Karen's voice sounded in my ear as I looked back at the building. "I see no other people in danger.""Thanks Karen." I scan the crowd of people, then my eyes rest on y/n, she is talking urgently into the phone and pacing back and forth. I wanted to make sure she was okay, I could clearly see she was upset. I walked over to her and tapped her shoulder. She turned around to face me and smiled ever so slightly.
"Hey I gotta go.
Yeah, he's right here. I'll tell him.
See you in a minute."
She hung up the phone and stuck it in her pocket.
"I need you to swing me home."
I was taken aback by this statement. Swing her home? Who was she on the phone with that told her to talk to me?"It's a long story, one that will be explained later. But because of that," she gestures to the statement written on the building behind us, "I'm officially in danger. So save me by taking me to the Avengers tower."
The pieces started to click into my head. I couldn't tell if she was joking or not. And strangely? That reminded me of someone that I know.
"Wait, are you related to Mr. Stark?"Y/n rolled her eyes and sighed, shifting her weight sassily to her right hip. "Do I need to start screaming for you to save me? Because I will."
I could feel my face heat up under my mask as I held out my hand to her. "Are you ready?"
She shrugged, flashing me a million dollar smile. As cheesy as that is, it was absolutely true. Her smile gave me butterflies. It didn't happen often when we were in school, she seemed to take school very seriously. That, or she didn't like me very much. But of course, she liked the masked hero better.Y/n wrapped her arms around my neck and I placed my arm securely around her waist, making sure that I didn't place my hand too low. The feeling of her against me gave me butterflies again. I shot a web out of my web shooter and off we went, up into the sky.
"So how'd you get your spider powers?" She asked, talking fairly loudly to be heard over the wind in our faces.
"I was bitten by a radioactive spider." I replied back to her, keeping a firm hold on her as we approached the large tower."So, are you an avenger?" She asked yet another question. This question caught me off guard. She probably saw the battle between the avengers on the news and that's when she saw me with them. But I'm just a friendly neighborhood Spider-Man.
"If you're thinking about lying, don't. I'll know." She smirked with a cock of her eyebrow.
I laughed as we land on The landing pad of the tower that leads directly into the home.
"No, I'm not an avenger. But, I'm pretty close with Mr. Stark." All she did was nod with a smile before running into the house.I quickly follow her into the house and looked around. I began to sweat nervously. She knows Mr.Stark? How? Why was I told to bring her here? Are they related? Is she his daughter? I didn't think that he had a daughter.
My nerves kicked in when Mr. Stark came around the corner and embraced y/n in a tight hug. "I'm glad you're alright."
"I'm a bad bitch, you can't kill me." She replied.
"Watch your language and go to your room. I need to speak with, Uh, spider-man."
I swallowed hard as I stood there awkwardly, shifting my weight from foot to foot."Why can't I stay?" She replied sassily. This was a side to her that I hadn't seen at school. He playful, sarcastic side. "I wanna know Spider-Man's identity."
Tony smirked down at her softly and placed a hand on her head, ruffling her hair. "Do as I say, not as I do."
She practically mouthed the words as he was saying them. She stuck her tongue out at Mr. Stark and flattened down her hair before walking towards a hall. She stopped briefly and turned on her heel to look at me. She pointed two of her fingers at her eyes, then back at me before disappearing.Mr. Stark gestures for me to follow him. I do as I'm told and we enter a random meeting room. He locks the door behind us. "Friday shut off communication with Thursday and the rest of the house, thank you."
I rip off my mask, My hair a mess and breath short. "Y/n is your daughter?" I ask bluntly. Mr. stark simply shrugs and leans against the table behind him. "Something like that, yeah. And obviously, there's one more person who knows that's not in this room. Which is a bad deal."
"Why wouldn't you tell me you had a daughter!" I practically shouted at him. "Why didn't you tell me?"
Mr. Stark raised an eyebrow at me and gave me the "Seriously" look."Shut up and listen. Now that you know, you need to protect her. I mean it, you wanted your next mission, well now you've got it, Kid. Protect my daughter while I deal with this threat."
"How am I going to act around her at school?" I asked, a million questions going through my head.
"Normally. Just become friends with her. She's hard on you at first, but throw in that peter charm and she'll be hooked," he patted my shoulder before turning towards the door.A smile crept onto my face that I tried to push away but failed and broke into a full smile. I slip my mask back on and take a leap of faith, free falling from the avengers building and then swinging into the city.
