It was one of those lonely nights. Asami just got back to her apartment from the restaurant she worked at; she hated coming back to her empty living room. The raven-haired girl casually walked in, made herself comfortable on the couch, and turned on the TV. Nothing was really going on but she tried to make the best of it. She stared at the coffee table in front of the couch, there was a stack of letters. The letters had the name Hiroshi Sato, her dad, they've been quite distant since the incident. Asami could never bring herself to open one of the letters, she just couldn't.
The raven-haired girl eventually got bored and walked into the kitchen for a beer. She pulled out a bottle from the fridge and laid her back against the fridge door. She started to drink slowly and took in her reality: she was lonely, not one person in her love life. A tear formed and slid down her face. She stared blankly forward and took another drink from the bottle, this had been going on for quite some time. Thinking over this, water started to form around her eyes. The girl's face turned to a frown quickly and she started to choke up and sob. She pulled her knees up and hid her face down to her chest as tears stained her shirt. That was the last thing she thought of until sleep slowly took her away.
Asami slowly opened her eyes as sunlight peered through the curtains. The girl found herself curled up on the kitchen floor with the bottle spilled with its contents. She stood up slowly and felt a slight headache, this was normal though after those lonely nights. Once her senses came to her, she cleaned up the mess but how could she ever clean up her mess she called a life? Asami's phone caught her attention as it lit up on the coffee table next to the letters. She walked over and reached for the device, but she froze as she stared back at the letters while the phone was ringing with her father's name and picture.
Instead, the raven-haired girl put the phone on silent and left to her room. It was time to take a shower and get cleaned up. Afterwards, Asami knew she wasn't working at the restaurant today so what should she do? Hmm... maybe I should go shopping? It'd be a change for my boring life. With that thought, the girl got ready in a casual red dress and smiled at herself in the mirror. Maybe today was gonna be a good day, she could just feel it.
Asami wandered the mall with a few bags of beautiful dresses, skirts, and more that just made her feel happy. She went out, treated herself, and couldn't help but feel giddy at this accomplishment. Although it was short lived as her stomach growled with hunger, couldn't hurt to stop by the food court.
After getting her order, the girl decided to eat by herself at a table in the middle of the large place. After a few minutes into her meal, Asami looked around and saw couples sitting together at tables. This may not have been a good idea. She couldn't help but feel lonely again and started to lower her smile slightly. Suddenly, the raven-haired girl heard a laughter from an adjacent table and turned to glance. She saw a tan-skinned, short dark brown-haired girl laughing rambunctiously with two other guys. They looked to be friends and quite happy with each other, but something with that one girl stuck with Asami. Her laugh... it sounded so full of joy and just happy that made the raven-haired girl smile. She had a blue sleeveless shirt that showed some muscle and man did it show, This girl is absolutely gorgeous!
Just as the tan-skinned girl was done laughing, she turned towards Asami's direction and caught her staring. Asami had locked sight with the most beautiful blue eyes she'd seen and immediately felt her face burn up with embarrassment and realization. She turned back to her unfinished tray and held her hand to the side of her reddened face. The raven-haired girl couldn't believe she just got caught staring at that beautiful person, What would they think?!? I'm gonna be seen as a stalker! Out of the corner of her eye she saw the blue-eyed girl pointing over to her, They noticed! They think I'm weird! Asami quickly sprung up, picked her bags up, and sped-walked towards the exit.
Just as Asami made it to the exit, "Hey! Stop!" She turned to see the blue-eyed girl after her holding something. The raven-haired girl didn't take a second look and bolted out the door towards her car. She felt a rush of adrenaline surge in her as she made it to her car. Upon getting in as quick as possible, Asami let out a breath of relief. Tink, tink, tink! The girl jumped at the noise while behind the wheel, she turned to see the blue-eyed girl grinning from outside the window. Oh no! How'd she know I was here! Asami's heart raced and she felt more nervous than ever.
The raven-haired girl prepared for the worst and opened her door to get out and face this extremely beautiful person. Asami nervously greeted the tan-skinned girl, "Hey... what's up?" Oh great, I just had to respond about as awkward as I could!
"Hey there, sorry I scared you." the blue-eyed girl said, "I saw you leave this and couldn't let you go without it." She handed Asami one of her shopping bags, she must've left it in her hurried escape attempt.
Asami took it and accidentally touched the girl's hand, both of them felt awkward for a second. "Uhh... thanks but you didn't have to do that." she said while giving a nervous smile.
"Of course I had to. I wouldn't live with myself if I let an innocent girl leave without her bag." the tanned girl said jokingly. She had a humorous attitude that made Asami feel welcomed, that feeling was rare. "Anyways, my name is Korra, yours?"
Korra... what a beautiful name for a gorgeous girl. "Asami." she responded as calmly as possible.
"Well Asami, it's nice to meet you. If you don't mind me asking, why'd you run off?"
"Oh uh..." the raven-haired girl was looking for any excuse she could come up with. "I just forgot I needed to be home to... get ready for work! I was rushing cause I forgot the time." Hopefully she buys it.
"Oh... okay. Well I wish you good luck then Asami." she gave a lopsided grin that just made Asami's heart flutter. As the she got back inside her car, Asami was stopped. "Hey Asami..." the raven-haired girl looked back up at her, "it was nice talking to you. Hope to see you again sometime." Asami nodded and smiled back to her in agreement and left in her car with her face blushing.
Once she made it back to her apartment with the bags, she still couldn't catch her breath. Korra just made her heart run a marathon and there was a million things going on in her head. Asami was sweating and huffing from the experience. Did I just talk to that pretty girl and she hoped to see me again? Asami thought about it in disbelief. However, thinking of Korra and her pretty blue eyes made the raven-haired girl feel giddy again. She smiled to herself and left her bags on the couch and walked to her room. Asami went to sleep peacefully and happy on her bed in the first time in a long, long while.
I hope you enjoyed and please leave feedback. I'm sort of new but I'm sure I'll keep up with this story. Again, hope you enjoyed!
