Vanessa Hiram's view;
I woke up to the smell of perfume. Today was the testings. Only two more days until me and Liam's date. I got up and did my retinue. My hair was in pig tails by the time it was done. Mariah smiled as we got ready. We were running late, so we rushed down stairs. Today we couldn't eat until the testings, so we didn't eat. Cassie was outside waiting as usual. We all climbed in and talked about usual things.
-
Right away, we sat in the cafe. The testing rooms were in the basement. So it took the total time of 10 minutes just to get up and down the stairs.
"Ben Carr, Vanessa Hiram, Jade May." The woman called out as me, Ben and Jade walked out. I was shaking. My test results could be bad.
My testing room was number 2. Inside stood a skinny woman. "I'm Madisyn, today I'm testing you. If you get scared don't panic." Madisyn said.
Was that suppose to be that testing is scary? Sweat was swimming down my bony neck.
"I'm just going to poke your arm with this needle, examples will be shown of different powers." Madisyn explained.
The needle felt like a flu shot. The liquids squirms in my vain's. The room turns black. The air is cold. "Make fire." A voice said.
"How?" I answered, confused.
"Make fire." The voice said a little louder.
"I don't know how to, though." I whined, as the ground came into view. It was snowing and was very cold.
"MAKE FIRE!" The voice yelled, for the last time, before becoming quiet.
"Focus." The voice whispered.
My eyes stared at my hands, concentrating very hard. A flame started sparking at my hand.
"Focus more." The voice echoed.
I shut my eyes and concentrated. "Fire." I whispered, then a ball of fire glowed in my hand.
"Melt the ground."
My hand flung in different directions, not even concentrating on the fire anymore. The ground melted in a matter of seconds. Then the room was dark. It had one light in the middle of the room, atop of me.
"Make ice." The voice said to me.
I concentrated on my finger. 'Cold, cold. Just like a ice cooler' my mind kept thinking. A spark of coldness went through my fingers.
By the time the room was getting hotter and hotter. Ice went through my hand, ice splashed into the air and made the room black.
In a matter of seconds, I was back in the metal chair. "Impressive." Madisyn said, smiling. "I'll be right back." She told me and walked out.
I was anxious. What if they kick me out, cause I'm not fit for this university? My vision was going blurry from being so anxious. "I'm back." Madisyn's voice rang in my ear.
"No need to be nervous," She said flipping pages. "You fire is perfect, 50%. Ice not so much, 25%. The next testings you'll have more powers. This is starting, so it's pretty good."

When I got back to the table, Liam was shaking. "What's up baby?" I asked him, touching his arm.

"I'm scared, they could kick me out." He said holding my hand.

"Don't worry, it's fun. Seriously. Just take a deep breath."
