Group C (Maze Runner)

chapter 1

"I think she's awake!" I heard a voice say

"is he awake too?" another voice asked

"not yet" the first voice said

I had my eyes half open

'where am I?' I thought 'actually who am I?'

"only Will, Fox and I can go in" a third voice said "you all know the rules"

I heard a few groans and sigh's before the sound of feet walking in

"Theo was watching them and said the girl's eyes were half open" the second voice said

"thanks Will" the third voice said

"ugh" I mumbled

"you heard that right?" a fourth voice said

"yes Fox we did too" the third voice said

"whew thought I was after gettin' stung" Fox said happily

'stung?' I thought but must of said out loud

"can you hear us?" Will asked

I could roughly see what he looked like but everything was a blur. I nodded my head slowly as someone kneeled down beside me. I suddenly jumped up

"who are you!" I yelled "where am I!" I looked at my hands before yelling "who am I!"

"calm down it's perfectly fine" Fox said nervously

He was a thin but strong looking boy, his red hair sticking up everywhere while his green eyes full of worry

"it's not fine!" I snapped

"jeez girl calm down!" Will said sternly

He was strong, but his face was soft. His black hair in need of a brush and his almost black eyes unreadable.

"Will! don't you know better than the rest of us!" the other person said

He was older than the three of us. He was extremely strong looking with a chiseled face. His black hair pushed back with a red bandana and his green eyes glaring at Will

"she doesn't know who she is!" Will protested

"and fighting won't help her at all!" the other person said

"but Dave-"

"no" Dave said

Fox looked at me apologetically "sorry about them, I think they're related but they say they aren't"

I nodded my head slightly before hearing a grunt coming from the bed beside mine. I jumped back in surprise and shock

"who's that?" I asked

"why so many questions!" Will exclaimed "you were so much better when you didn't talk"

"and I think you would fight with your own shadow" I said raising an eyebrow and putting a hand on my hip

"two minutes here and she's already my favorite" Fox laughed "I'm Fox!"

"I heard" I said blandly

"oh okay then" the red head said slightly upset making me feel sorry then

"I'm guessing you know nothing about who you were as well?" Dave asked

"who I was?" I questioned

"again with the-" Will began

"go check if the boy's okay Will" Dave commanded

Will pulled across a sheet before glaring at me then going behind the sheet. Fox and Dave looked at me

"I'm Dave, the person in charge of things around here" Dave said

"and when he's gone I'm in charge!" Fox said happily

"good thing I leave only once or twice a month" Dave said sternly "do you remember your name?" he asked

"n-no" I stuttered thinking what do I remember... Nothing...

"Fox you show her around I'll stay here incase the boy wakes" Dave said

Fox grabbed my hand excitedly "you and Alice are the only two girls here!" he said as we walked out of the tent like hut

I squinted my eyes as I looked at the sun light "sorry should have warned you" he said dropping my hand once we were outside "and also the other guys will bloody kill me if they saw me hold your hand" he whispered

I nodded slowly understanding. I looked around the place, a big green open area with stone walls stopping us from leaving

"I'll show you everyone later at the feast" Fox said

"is Fox really your name?" I asked

"no" he mumbled "only a few of us can't remember our names" he explained "like Will, he got named Will when he had the will to fight Harry, the strongest person here"

"what did you get named after cause if it was your hair" I picked up a bit of my own red hair "and if I forget my name you'll have to share"

he laughed lightly looking at the ground "no, a random fox came up to me on my first day and took a liking to me" he said "there he is!"

a bright red fox leaped over and circled around Fox rubbing against his legs like a cat "hey Robin" Fox said

"that's his name?" I asked

"yep the one and only" he smiled down at the animal "come on we have a lot more to see!"

he ran ahead of me but it didn't take me long to catch up "how?" he said shocked

"she's got the blood of a runner" a black haired blue eyed boy that looked a bit older than me

"a runner?" I asked but was ignored

"listen you and I both know we aren't allowed to run" Fox sighed "I didn't make the rules"

"what's a runner?" I asked again

"Fox she can run!" the boy said

"I know she can run Dylan!" Fox sighed

"a runner?" I asked again getting annoyed of being ignored

A another guy walked over with almost brown blonde hair and brown eyes "Dylan don't" he sighed

"what's a runner!" I said louder

the three of them looked at me then Fox grabbed my wrist and pulled me to a piece of the wall that looked like our only way out

"you see these names?" he asked dropping my wrist and brushing a hand along the names softly

"yeah" I nodded

"these are the names of the group before us" he explained

"why do some of them have lines through their names?" I asked

"they are the ones that died" he sighed "they are the ones that went into the maze"

"how-" I began

"the maze opens at the break of dawn and closes just as the sun goes down" he said tracing a finger around every letter "during the night Grievers kill anyone that is stuck in the maze" he paused and sighed "anyone who has seen a Griever hasn't survived the night"

"how do you know this?" I asked looking at all the names

"one person went in there" he whispered "Drake never came back..."

I looked at Fox and hugged him lightly "I guess ye were close" I whispered

He held back his tears as he replied "he was like a brother to me" a tear slipped down his face

"Abby" I mumbled

I took a step away from him "my name is Abby..." I smiled "my name is Abby!" I yelled jumping around the place

"come on I'll show you around the place then show you the people during the feast" Fox smiled laughing lightly...
