The vampire had a speared shoved through his shoulder just before he got the boy, one of the guards quickly dragged the prince out of the room, Edward held his wound, looking back to the window, he planned to jump. He realized that he was surrounded, people blocking the door, people waiting outside.

He growled, his own blood soaking his clothes, dripping onto the floor, he quickly to begin panicking, he was powerful, yes, but he would not be able to survive the onslaught that was coming his way. Magic had been banned by the king of this land long ago, but there, of course, was one exception, his own personal guards, they were there, as he sensed the large magical presence nearing the room.

he decided to take his chance, he leaped out of the window, crashing down into a wooden cart, it shattered, splinters, and broken wood shooting everywhere. Edward stood, stumbling towards an alleyway, he didn't have a plan, but if he could find somewhere, someway, to hide, he would be ok, all he needed to do was find a hole, a shadow, someplace that would conceal his presence just long enough until he could slip away and out of the city.

Edwards kept walking, hiding in the shadows. He stood there staying silent, a few guards ran past, he watched them go past. He began walking again, sneaking away, what he didn't realize was he was leaving a blood trail.

Matthews found an abandoned building, but he heard someone banging on the door, he stood, staring outside the window, the royal guards were there. Edwards began running again, until he heard a crash and footsteps, he felt a sharp pain in his leg. The man fell to the ground, groaning, all he saw was the metal gauntlets of the guards grabbing him, Edwards went to run, speak, anything, but he just blacked out.
