- MCCARTNEY BOWIE -The girl sat up with a groan and, in little rush, made her way down the stairs as a harsh knock sounded at the front door.
She checked through the peephole, something her step-father had always taught her to do, before opening the door to her friend Robert Hall, who was standing with his classic leather jacket and trousers, and lets of course not forget about the teddy-boy hair.
Beside him was a smaller boy, Paul McCartney, someone she rarely spoke to but had made a few exchanges with over the years. He had a similar style, with the hair and all, but wore no leather and had bright brown eyes with beautiful eyelashes- something she'd never really noticed until now, over all Paul appeared much more gentler than any other friends Robert had brung over for her to meet.
She was quickly brought out of her trance once a hand began moving harshly in front of her eyes, causing her to flinch, "earth to Diana?"
"yes Robert?" she replied quickly, the boys hiding laughter realising how red she was appearing, "what can i do for you?"
He sighed with a chuckle, making the poor girl turn even redder, "so easily you forget!"
Paul watched her intently as she spoke, something he found he did often with things he was somewhat fascinated by, and despite his usual fantasies of woman such as Brigitte Bardot, with the blonde hair, and all, he found her brown hair and lack of make-up complimented her beautifully sculptured face, her plump lips, soft appearing skin and bright blue eyes, ones he could read quite easily, yet at the same time struggled to understand.
"finally you remember! you're nearly as bad as John these days- and talking about John, we're probably missing him and Ivan right now!"
Diana quickly wrote a note to her mother explaining why she wouldn't be home for a the evening before joining the two 15 year olds outside. They took the other route down past Strawberry Fields and through Penny Lane, somewhere Robert, Diana and John would hang out frequently; if they didn't get caught of course.
The conversation made on the way to the church was nothing but dry, Robert didn't make an effort to try and get the two acquaintances talking so instead they walked in dead silence. Though, Paul did find himself looking over in Diana's direction every once in a while, admiring how carefree she seemed as the subtle winds blew her hair back.
"here we are!" Roberts voice echoed around as the trio finally found themselves in the long-awaited destination, "the quarrymen should be just over there"
Paul and Diana followed closely behind Robert as he confidently made his way over to a spot just beside the small stage, or truck, set up. They could just about make out the backs of the band members, all in leather of course, it seems they'd just got off stage as they placed their used instruments steadily back down on the ground.
John was the first to notice the three cowardly figures and the others soon after, "alright rob? glad you made it" he smiled infamously at the lad before searching around for a moment and landing his eyes on the girl, "Diana!"
She felt her feet lift off the ground in a flash as John quickly pulled her up into an embrace, "i've missed you" he whispered as he gently placed her back down, "you missed me?"
"of course i've missed you silly!"
A few moments later another boy had appeared to greet them all, Ivan, who was quite similarly dressed to John, he said his hellos before spotting Paul, who was standing back shyly, "aye, john have you spoken to paul here yet?"
John shook his head before curiously walking over to the younger boy, they talked for a few moments and soon enough Paul was already showing John how to tune a guitar, play a few chords and impressed the remaining surrounding members by playing twenty-flight rock.
It wasn't only John who was impressed by the boys work, from afar Diana could hear and see everything happening, she could feel her heartbeat quicken with every move he made. Still, she knew exactly what was going on and wanted to look away to in order to save herself- however she was in awe over how sweet and talented Paul seemed and couldn't help herself.
Little to her knowledge Paul had already noticed the soft stare Diana had on him; though it didn't bother him, in fact it only pushed him to play more and more songs he had been practicing, and as thrilling as it was to have the attention and amazement from a band he found interesting, Paul felt even better knowing he finally got some kind of acknowledgement off the girl.
