Chapter 2

He wouldn't look at me the next day. I didn't look at him. I wasn't angry or sad, I was just confused. And that night, he was back to the same spot as the night before. I didn't bother him this night. Instead I stayed in my room.

Later on I heard a knock on the door. I crawled out of bed and answered it. It was Meliodas and Elizabeth. "How're you doing, Y/N?"

I blinked. "I'm good. Do you have something that needs to be done?"

Meliodas laughed. "No, we just thought we'd check on you!"

"Oh, okay," I sighed. "Thanks. I'm okay."

"We're gonna have a drink in a bit if you wanna join us! We're about to settle down for the night." Meliodas piped up.

Elizabeth smiled. "Please, Y/N? We could have so much fun!"

I started to close the door. "Give me a bit? I promise I'll make an appearance."

That seemed to be a good enough answer for them.

After freshening up, I heard another knock at my door. When I opened it, Ban was there. He had two drinks in his hand. "I think I owe you an apology."

I stared at him, taking one of the drinks. "I don't think you need to apologize for anything."

Ban barged in and sat on my bed. "Come on, share a drink with me."

I looked at the ale in my hands. "I shared a drink with you last night. Give me another minute and I'll come outside with everyone else."

Ban scowled. "Just let me do this."

I scowled back. "Fine."

He made me sit down next to him. He kept going on about how last night he was drunk and he shouldn't have forced me to do anything. I told him I really didn't remember any of that. I told him he didn't strike me as the type to force someone to do something. He sighed. "You were stumbling to bed, I just carried you upstairs. I laid you in bed. I gave you a kiss. I shouldn't have done any of that."

I laughed. "That's all you did?" I finished my ale. "How about we do some more?"

His face turned bright red. I chuckled. "I'm kidding!"

He laughed nervously, but looked outside. Everyone was there, being loud and partying. They cheered. He looked back at me. I giggled. He suddenly leans in and kisses me. It was gentle and smooth, and he pulled away, face still red.
