I woke up two days after my transformation, I was feeling exhausted. Waking I was met with the sight of my younger sister sleeping.
I couldn't help but  smile at her cuteness. She was really the only reason I could even feel relatively calm about all that's been happenning to me. I had to stay stong for her, and make sure that she wasn't too sad about me going to live with Koyinsola(kola for short) or I think that's his name. We hadn't talked since i woke up so I was ot too sure. I was  compleatly uncapable of standing up, so I stayed in bed rubbing oyin's hair (yusrah's nickname short for oyindamola).

"Ayo you're awake " I was so in my mind that I hadn't noticed that she was awake, next thing I know she was on the bed hugging me with a deathly tight grip.

"You scared me. I didn't know when you were going to wake up.(hiccup)" she was crying now. I couln't stand it, she was going to make me cry.

"It's ok Oyin, stop crying. Don't worry, I'm here now don't worry I'll always be there. All you have to do is call and I'll be there" I said with tears in my eyes

"Ok sis I'll go call everyone (sniff)" she said wipping her tears.
"wait..." she was already out the door "sigh" she was the cutest .

After talking  to my family and assuring them that every thing was ok, and that I was only tired, more times than I can count, the girls came over to see me and I had to explain why I was leaving so suddenly...

"So you're leaving because you have some kind of ancient power, making you the betrothed of some king...", kéké said without any particular expression.

"yeaaa~"

" we are coming with you, you know."

" What are you talking about? Don't tell me you knew all along... no. That would be absurd... right?" they gave me a sheepish look

"We've kinda been training all our lives to be your guardians, cause we come down a long line of the  female guardians of the queen" Dami explained. To say I was shocked would be an understatement. I am shook.

"I hate you guys so much from keeping such an important detail of my life away from me. Didn't it ever come to your mind that I might actually lose trust in you?" I said angrily. This is all too much, how can they find it ok to keep such things from me. I just can't believe it.

"We're so sorry but we had to, in order to not burden you. We just wanted you live as care free as you did." said Kéké sadly.

"But what about your childhood wasn't it as important? Was our friendship just an excuse for me to be easier to protect?" I didn't know what to think anymore it's just too much for me to accept.

"Of course not. You KNOW how much we love you. We were friends before we even learnt about all this, so don't you dare belittle our friendship." Dami said angrily. That was a first. She wasn't the type to talk so passionately about something. I guess that's how much I mean to them.

"I'm sorry but it's still not ok that I didn't even get a say in this or the time to prepare. I'll just have to have fun while I still can. And I'm still angry." I said as I was trying to get myself to calm down, and get used to seeing my best friends as some African war generals or something.

"Yea we're sorry about that but it was for the best . Forgive us please~" Kéké said pouting.

"No."I turned my face away and crossed my arms. I saw them look at each other with a large grin and knowing what they were about to do quickly jumped out of my bed but before I could run for the door the were already holding me down and started tickling me I laughed so much that I couldn't breathe.

"What are you doing" I heard a deep and manly voice ask. His voice made my hairs stand on my neck and I felt a slight tug in my chest. He was in my room looking at me with those bright hazel eyes.

"Your highness" both Kéké and Dami said already on their feet helping me stand up.

"No need for formality just call me Kola" he said and all I could look at were those plump lips of his. The girls saw me looking and snickered and excused themselves leaving me with Kola.

"I see you're getting better. I hope you don't need me to get you any thing" his voice snapped me out of my daydream making him smirk and me scowl.

"My mom told me you helped reduce the pain during the transformation, thank you"

"It was my duty as you future spouse"he said proudly.

"Yea no need to rub it in, I'm still trying to get used to me getting married at 16"

"Don't worry I'll make it worth your while" he said with a wink, making me role my eyes.

"Yea I don't think that anything coming from you will really interest me" I checked him out with an uninterested look on my face.

"Wanna check just in case"he said while flexing.

"Sorry I don't like baby carrots" I had an innocent look on my face.

"Ouch that hurt but it's a bit more of a cucumber than anything"he said like he was flaunting.

"You're gross"i squinted my eyes and sneered.

"All the better to catch your attention my dear."he said in an attempt to talk the big bad wolf, making me snicker.

"Pff"
Maybe it's not that bad after all being an African queen.
