Kylie's pov
It's been a couple of hours since I went over to Maddie's house.
I was currently laying on my bed reading Black Butler.
Best. Manga. Ever.
In spite of that, my mind was else where.
Each page I turned, the more I kept thinking about today.
In all the years I've known Maddie, I've never seen her like that.
And she is being so in denial! She may deny that her tooth ache isn't bad, but deep down she knows it's affecting her.
On Wednesday I caught her sleeping on her desk.
And let's not forget the dark circles under her eyes.
If that's not sleep deprivation, I don't know what is!
What dawned to me even more is how defensive she got when I asked her if she visited a dentist.
You wouldn't react like that if-
You were afraid.
But the real question is, why is she so afraid of the dentist?
Dentists are suppose to help people, that is practically their job.
I almost rang her, however I decided not to push it further.
Maddie is probably tired of me interrogating her.
Although, at the same time, I couldn't just sit here and do jack shit!
And that's when an idea came into mind.
I put down my manga and unplugged my phone from the side.
Going over to Google, I typed in 'nearest dental clinic.'
There were lots that came up.
I filtered the results from excellent to shit reviews.
The top search with a five and a half star rating was 'Signature Smiles Dental Clinic.'
I visited their website and tapped on the 'contact information' tab.
Mmm...it's only ten minutes away from the office.
Perfect.
I scrolled down and spotted the telephone number.
I rang it and patiently waited.
...
...
...
After three rings, a woman picked up.
"Good afternoon, this is Signature Smiles Dental Clinic, how may I help?" A friendly voice spoke, who I presumed was the receptionist.
"Ah yes, I would like to book an appointment for my friend, Madison Young. She has a tooth that's bothering her."
"Okay ma'am, when would she like to schedule the appointment?"
"Preferably Monday. She's in a lot of pain."
"I see. I'm going to have a look in our system to see if we have any available times. One moment please."
"Sure."
...
"Hello ma'am? Unfortunately, all of our dentists are fully booked on Monday. However, Dr Anderson's Tuesday 2:30 got cancelled. Would that be okay for her?"
"That is absolutely wonderful, I'll tell her the good news. Thank you very much for your help."
"Not at all ma'am, have a wonderful day. Goodbye."
