I Need To Protect Them

-Chapter 3- The Birthday Party- Part 1

-Peter's POV-
"Their Birthdays are finally here, I'am so excited and also kinda scared about it. I wonder what will happen? I think I might get them all matching necklaces and imbue them with protective magic. Of course I'll have to make it from someone anonymous. I can't having them find out it was me who gave it to them, they might not wear it if they find out it's from a guy. I'll pick out crystal shard necklaces in their favourite colours-Luke-sapphire blue, David- emerald, Nathaniel-scarlet, Lucien-ocean green and Lycancie- Amber. I hope that they will wear them? Especially if they end up rejecting me as their mate, at least then they will still have something to protect them from any harm.

-Luke's POV-
I can't believe it's our birthdays already it felt like it's come up so quickly this year, I bet it's because we're all extremely excited for it.

We will soon find out who our mates are, I wonder if my mate is beautiful? I think that it won't matter either way, I believe she will be the most gorgeous girl I have ever seen. I can't wait for tonight. I'm glad we all decided to skip school today, we definitely needed to help make sure everything was right for the party, because it's one of the most important days of our lives. It had to be perfect.

-Nathaniel's POV-
Setting everything up for our party was extremely exhausting, but for some reason I'm still full of energy and excitement. Today's the day I finally turn 18, I feel like I've just been drifting along until now. Our lives are finally going to start falling into place, I can't wait for tonight.

When I find my mate I can't wait to finally be able to see him or her, (Nathaniel is bisexual) I haven't told any one yet. I don't really know how they'd react but if the guys decide to reject or kick me out because of it, I won't care as long as I have my soulmate. That'll be all that matters to me but of course I'd still be broken if they do actually decide to reject me, I mean we have been raised like brothers I hope our bond is stronger and more important than what my sexuality is. I definitely still want everyone to be part of my life, I wouldn't want them to think less of me just because I like guys and girls.

All I know is that it will definitely be a night to remember that's for sure.

-Principle Lana Evergrave's POV-
I guess the day has finally come, soon they will know who their mate is. All I can do is hope that they accept Peter, all he has done is protect them and hide himself from them. That's all he thought he could do, but the I guess a teenage mind is like that sometimes. Anyways whatever happens I'm sure it will be eventful no matter the outcome.

I wonder if Peter will even go to their party? I think he wants to go but doesn't want to cause any unnecessary drama, which I doubt will happen I just think there will be a lot of confusion. But I mean can you really blame him for not wanting to go? It will be the first time their attention will be fixated on him, it will be a lot to take in at first but I'm sure that it will work out anyways. Whatever happens I'll be there for him and if he does decide to show up I'll be at the party anyways, so I'll be able to calm things down if everything thing starts taking a turn for the worst.

-Peter's POV-
I'm planning on dropping my gifts for them off at their house an hour beforehand so then it can be mine that they first open on their birthdays, I hope they like them.

I've carefully gift wrapped each one in the corresponding colours with the necklaces and have placed them all inside a medium sized black box with silver ribbon tied around it. I put all their names on each one so they don't fight over who gets what, even though I got all their favourite colours so I'm sure they won't but it's better to be safe rather than sorry.

-Hour before party starts-
I'm dropping off their presents now, I'll still watch their reactions from afar when they open them. I'm sure they'll figure out that it was their mate that gave them the presents but they still won't know who I'am. they also may not know it was their mate because it's not until the full moon tonight that they'll find out who their mate is. Who knows?

As I quickly leave the present and  ring the doorbell I go and hide in a nearby bush so I can still see what's happening. Luke opens the door and swiftly picks up my gifts to them, he calls out to the others before closing the door and deciding to open it. I can see them through the window, Luke slowly opening the box with everyone gathered around him.
I can see they are overjoyed with their gifts each swiftly opening and then putting them on.

I'm so glad they like them, as I thought the necklaces look amazing on them, each colour suits them perfectly and matches with their personalities/auras. I couldn't have asked for anything better than this. I'm glad their gifts make them happy. That's all I could've asked for.

-Luke's POV-

As I was sitting down on the couch before the party starts to make sure I wasn't too tired, the door bell rang and I wasn't so sure as to who it could be since that party still doesn't start for another hour. I opened the door and they was a black present box with silk silver ribbon wrapped in a bow, whoever gave us this definitely took some time to really make it look perfect- "I wonder if it's from my mate? But I don't think it is since the full moon hasn't hit yet so they wouldn't know who their mate is either. I wonder who it's from?

I take the gift inside and call out to the guys to come down and open it, I feel like I have to open it straight away, why? It's like I have a strong pull towards it, I've never felt like this before. I wonder what it is? As the guys come down David- "asks what I wanted?" But they soon see the present and ask what it is? They feel the pull towards it too, I can sense it. I slowly pull the ribbon down and start to take the lid off and I see some of the most brightly coloured jewellery boxes, these look extremely expensive. Each had our favourite colours inside with our names attached to each Mine- sapphire blue, David- emerald, Nathaniel- scarlet, Lucien- ocean green and Lycancie- amber, whoever got these gifts for us must know us extremely well as it's really only family members that know what each of our favourite colours are. As they correspond with the colours of our auras.

As we all pick up our favourite coloured boxes we open them all at the same time, these are crystal shards! and really expensive ones at that. I can't help the feeling knowing that these are definitely from someone that's special to all of us. We all quickly put on the necklaces, they shimmer so brightly when the sun hits them and once we've put them on all of our necklaces start to glow. Our auras start to shine the same colours as the necklaces and I think to myself that these have definitely been imbued with some type of extremely powerful magic, I've only felt similar magic like this once and that's from our Principle- Lana Evergrave but why? I can't really think of any reason she would get us a gift like this? But she's the only person I can think of that has such strong magic. I won't think about it too much, I love my gift each of us do. These presents couldn't have been more perfect.
