Starting things off with an Honourable Mention!:
VICE by: saxophone94
Review: I was completely captivated by the characters in Vice. Sian is simultaneously a mysterious character and also an extremely relatable and enduring character. It is clear she has experienced a trauma, although the details of what exactly happened are still kept mostly in the dark from the reader. There are just enough hints to go on that readers will be able to guess, which I think works well for the story. Her actions and the way she deals with what has happened are shown well and in a realistic way, which makes her character believable and stand out.On the other hand, Maya is a total wildcard that I can't figure out, but in the best way. She's a lot of fun, kind of nuts, and I can truly see the chemistry between her and Sian and I love it. Their dialog together is on point. The story made me really curious to find out more about Maya and who she is, and how Sian and Maya will grow and learn from each other, as well as what trouble they might get themselves into.
Congratulations Lovely!

His Dark Words by: ALSestier
Review: What I love about His Dark Words is the plot kicks off right from the start, grabs the reader's attention and doesn't let them put the book down. I find myself just as curious as Harlow about the boy whose bag she found and the dark poetry it contains. The characters in this story stick out to me as memorable and unique in the Teen Fiction genre. Harlow is a genuinely good heart who is just the right type to want to save the mysterious tortured boy whose bag she took. Her friends Vanessa and Alex have a great dynamic with her. Vanessa is a little trouble maker that I can't help but love, while Alex's odd reactions to the entire situation make me curious about what's going on in his head. I can't help but love the friendship between them and Harlow's mom during their extravagant and classic movie nights. I want to be there with them!As I've said, the plot of this story is an immediate hook. Harlow's narration works well because it keeps the reader guessing about what is going on right along with her. We don't get all the answers at once. As the story plays out, the readers gets hints and also teases that keep them wanting more. Fantastic story!
Congratulations Lovely! <3

Doubtful Poems By A Hopeful Teenager by: KaitlinJackisch
Review: This story has just the right amount of adorable and sweet teenage love and friendship. Even though some of the plot points are predictable, they are predictable in just the right way. I knew that Greyson was going to end up being the new kid at Leona's school. However, that only drove me to keep on reading more because I couldn't wait to see what Leona's reaction would be when she comes face to face with the boy she's been friends with online for the past two years.I absolutely loved the scene where Greyson calls Leona on the phone, not knowing she's the girl he saved at school that day, and recounts his day to her. I just want to scream at Leona to tell Greyson who she is so that they can be together, because as we learned from Greyson's POV, he's head over heels for this girl he thinks he might never meet. However, Leona is a complex character. I feel like she may have some self esteem issues, and she tends to hide away from her peers. She expressed herself through poetry, which I feel like will play a major part in the plot of this story. Overall, this story is one I could see any fan of the Teen Fiction genre binge reading as fast as they physically can. Even though Leona has a serious somberness about her character, she also has some fantastic wit and humor that makes her narration shine!
Congratulations Lovely!! <3 <3
Annnd Finally!!! Presenting the Winner of the Teen Fiction genre!!!:
Killer Queen: A Disasterpiece//#Wattys2019 by: TaylorBryant787
Review: Killer Queen: A Disasterpiece is a standout piece of teen fiction. The writing style is original and captivating. Taylor has a phenomenal narrative voice that keeps the reader engaged. It feels like sitting down with the author and listening to her tell her story in dramatic but fantastic fashion. The humor and wit are all on point.Despite the fact that this story will have any reader cracking up at the antics of the MC and the varied cast of supporting characters, the story also has a really true and heartfelt message to it. The story is a memoir of the author's teenage years, and it highlights the struggles she went through with anxiety and depression. The main character is remarkably relatable. The feeling of reading something and thinking to yourself, "oh gosh, I'm not the only one that has felt like this before!" is something that makes this story meaningful, important and impactful. The honesty with which the author tells her story, not leaving out any of the cringe-worthy and embarrassing details is truly commendable, and not something I feel like I'd have the courage to do with my own life.
That said, the story itself really drew me in and made me want to keep turning the pages. The supporting cast of characters from Taylor's cousin Ally, to her mom Patti and her friend Kiwi give the story a great variety and all add their own unique flair and charm. The MC's obsession with Dan and how she slowly falls into being a stalker honestly kept me on the edge of my seat because I couldn't wait to see what would happen next. The feeling of wanting so desperately to control something you can't control, and how that loss of control can tear you up inside was something I found very relatable and well portrayed in this story. Even though Taylor is obsessed with Dan, as a reader, I get the feeling that the real, more painful and harmful obsession is the need for control. This story has a great theme to it, a compelling narrative, and a roller coaster ride of a plot!
