"Omg are you serious? You got to be kidding me."
"I'm not lying, Ellie. Station Officer Steele spoke to me about Sam." Elvis explained.
"But that's just unfair. It wasn't meant to be something big." Ellie exclaimed.
"Yeah I know. I think to be honest, Boyce went way to far."
"Exactly! Sam has saved so many lives and just one small mistake costed him his job. That's so freakin ridiculous!" Ellie said as she was really pissed off about Sam being fired. That's when Arnold walked in.
"Guys did you hear about....."
"Yep we know." Ellie said cutting off Arnold.
"Do you think Penny knows?" Arnold asked as Elvis went up to put on the kettle.
"No she doesn't apparently." Ellie said rolling her eyes.
"Are you mad or something?" Arnold asked noticing Ellie's attitude.
"I'm just kinda annoyed with Penny. I think she over reacted a bit, you know. I mean if she didn't make a whole scene, no one would have noticed and Sam wouldn't have gotten fired." Ellie replied. Arnold shrugged.
"You gotta remember Penny gets very emotional because her past still haunts her." Elvis said, walking in with the tea.
"Yeah I know but still." Ellie sighed.
"You guys want some biscuits to go with that." Elvis said going off to the kitchen again.
"Sure that'll be nice."
The rest of the week was pretty quiet. There were a few emergencies like Lyon the cat stuck in a tree. Or Norman going overboard. Joe's little inventions catching on fire. Nothing too big that couldn't be handled.
Penny had returned to work the week after. She was clueless about what had happened last week.
"Hey Penny, how are you?" Elvis greeted as he was washing Jupiter.
"Hi Elvis. I'm good. How's everything?" Penny said.
"Ellie and Arnold went off to an emergency. Mike got trapped inside his van again." Elvis laughed at the situation. How does Mike even get himself into these things. Penny giggled.
"You know, Mike. Always getting into problems." Penny said, still laughing. She was a lot better because of the break she took. It was worth it. She got her mind settled and what to say to Sam. She even gotten sometime to work on her garden.
"Well I best be heading off. I gotta let Station Officer Steele know I'm back on duty." Penny said waving at Elvis as she walked to Steele's office. She knocked on the door.
"Yes?"
"Its Penny."
"Oh yes hello Penny. How are you feeling?" Steele asked, happy to see her.
"I'm doing fine. I just wanted to let you know that I'm in for the afternoon shift." Penny informed.
"Alright good girl. It's been pretty slow lately. So you can go ahead and just do some small jobs around the station before there's an emergency." Steele suggested.
"Ok Sir. I'll be going off now." Penny said leaving Steele's office. Penny went to look for Sam. She wanted to talk to him about the situation and sort it out. After about 10 minutes of searching the station, she couldn't find a single sign of Sam.
"This was strange. No Sam in sight." Penny thought to herself. She bumped into Arnold, who had come back from the emergency.
"Hey Penny. You look worried. What's wrong?"
Arnold asked. He had noticed that Penny seemed devastated."No I'm just looking for Sam. Have you seen him? I looked around the whole station." Penny asked.
"Oh about that. Well the day after the incident, Chief Fire Officer Boyce came to the station to have a word with Sam." Arnold started. Penny was starting to get even more worried.
"So after speaking to Sam, Boyce ended up firing him that same day because, according to him, Sam disrespected one of his fellow Co-worker in an inappropriate and unruly manner." Arnold explained. Penny couldn't believe it. She caused Boyce to fire her Best friend. She felt so guilty.
"Oh my, Sam got fired because of me. Do you know where I could find him?" Penny asked.
"Well actually I haven't seen or spoken to him since that day. Steele said that he ran off." Arnold said realizing Sam's absence.
"And you guys haven't done anything about it? Sam could be in real trouble and you guys are just twiddling your thumbs waiting for an emergency and not noticing that your own former Team leader could be in danger!" Penny said almost yelling. She cared about Sam as a friend. She really regrets what she did to Sam that night. There was always another way to go about it. Instead she chose to act in an immature way.
Elvis and Ellie heard Penny yelling. They came running down to main base.
"What's all this yelling?" Elvis asked.
"Why haven't you guys started a search for Sam? He's been gone all week." Penny exclaimed.
"Nobody reported him missing." Elvis said.
"We should start looking for him." Ellie said.
Arnold and Elvis nodded."Knowing Sam, he could be in some dangerous place." Ellie continued.
"I'll go inform Station Officer Steele about this matter." Arnold said heading off to the office.
