I'll admit sometimes it rains
And it's hard to believe the sun will come out
But even if it does you won't see it
If you hide inside complaining
I'm not saying you have to wear rose tinted spectacles
And pretend life is perfect when it's not
But why wear sunglasses when it's already dark?I'll admit that sometimes the thunder bellows
And the lightning is blinding
And it seems like there's no way out
But if you don't try to find a solution
You're part of the problem
So why stay in the dark forest
When there's a bright opening on the horizon?
Why add to the fire
When you could clear the smoke?
I'm not saying you should wear rose tinted spectacles
But don't wear sunglasses when it's already dark.I'll admit sometimes you can't hear anything over the whistling wind
And the clouds haze your happiness
And it's too easy to pass comment
But judging never solved anything
So why search for the darkness
When the light is filtering through?
Why nurture the thorns
When you can grow a rose?
I don't suggest you should wear rose tinted spectacles
But what's the point in wearing sunglasses when it's already dark?I'll admit that it's hard to always be strong
When all the trees are collapsing
And the only words in the air are bitter
But if you give up then your enemies win
If you don't let the light in then the darkness will consume all
So don't pretend you miss the birdsong
When you blocked it out
Because you can't thaw the ice
With the frost that made it.~ 27/8/19 - LD x
