Thank you:
First of all I'd like to say thank you for reading! I really hope you enjoyed this new collection and was able to gain something from it or connect to it. As always, I loved writing these poems - not only because I was able to put in my opinions and thoughts on different issues but that I was able to challenge myself creatively. Editing and rewriting was a major part of this to me because it means the poems really express who I am (which is the whole point of this collection and poetry generally in my opinion) and that every bit of imagery and each line has a message.
I'd also like to thank my friends again for inspiring parts of my writing, reading my poems, and giving me feedback 💞. In particular I have to thank ElsFin, MiaroseK_, Clumpywoods, Beth and Aine.
As always, please comment any feedback or suggestions, or even if you have any questions about my writing, let me know. If you like any poems don't forget to vote for them.
Thanks, Lucy xNote to reader (more info on creating, writing and editing this collection):
The first poem I wrote for this collection, and got the idea from was "Angels". It inspired me to write a collection of poetry on positivity, kindness, mindset, etc... I always knew I wanted my next collection to be more general on the topics it covered, and on a more personal level compared to "Red is the colour of passion", but up until this point I didn't know what it would be about. So, from there I planned out what messages, topics and themes I wanted to include and it was at this point I decided to split it into three parts. When I had finished planning, I was able to write the poems easily and in quite quick succession.
Some of the poems I drafted and edited a lot (for example the final version of "Perfect Beauty" is the fourth draft), whereas others I was happy with the first draft straight away, like "Into the Clouds" and "The Storm".
When reading over the poems, I've noticed that all the poems in this collection have some sort of imagery - some have a small, subtle bit, others are jam packed full of imagery and metaphors. I didn't do this on purpose, but I like imagery because I think it's a fun, creative and unique way to express a feeling or thought clearly with the reader, without making it too boring. The natural imagery also fits with the title of the collection.
Again, if you have any questions, please comment them.
The next section of this trilogy will be called "Rain makes rainbows" 🌈 which I'm really looking forward to writing because it's going to be happy and positive (now the rainbow has risen after "The Storm"), and I've already written one of the poems that will be in it.Again, thank you for reading, from Lucy x
