6. Winter

Don't give up
Wait for a better day
Like the trees
Who lose their leaves in winter
Do they get down hearted?
Do they think summer will never come?
But it does
And they grow bright, beautiful leaves
Once again
Sometimes it takes a loss
To gain something even better.

Don't give up
Search for a solution
Like the birds
Who have to migrate every winter
Do they feel broken?
Do they wonder if they'll ever go back home?
But they do get home
And when the coldness has passed
They can find joy again.
Sometimes you have to experience darkness
To appreciate the light.

Don't give up
Pass the darkness through positivity
Like the squirrels and hedgehogs
Who have to hibernate every winter
Do they feel lost?
Do they wonder if it'll ever fade?
But they manage somehow
And when the ice perishes and the sun appears
They find new life and beauty
Sometimes you have to deal with hurt
To learn and become stronger.

We all have winters
Eternal dark, ice, wind, terror,
That may seem to never end
But don't give up
Because the sun will dawn on a brighter day
And on that day, I promise,
You'll be more powerful in every way.
