Chapter 2

Author's Note: I'm gonna try and update every Tuesday. Key word: try. I have school on the 5th and I'm gonna be a senior so I'm gonna be focusing on college and stuff. This chapter is gonna be a little bit longer. It's not much to be honest, like another 200 or something words. One month later… 

"That'll be 10 dollars" I said to the teenager in front of me as I handed her the movie ticket. 

"Thank you" the teenager said as she handed me the money and went about her way. 

I smiled back as I looked up towards the clock in front of me. 

5 minutes until break.. c'mon now any minute…

"Hey Jason!" I sang as I turned around to face him with a smile. 

"Yeah?" 

"Your turn now buddy" I said as I patted his chest as I started walking towards the break room. 

Finally. Some rest. 

I groaned as I sat down because my feet started to regain some feeling after standing for 6 hours with no end.

Working in a movie theater is some hard shit. 

Twenty minutes into my break and scrolling through Instagram when my screen goes dark. 

Unknown Caller ID… 

I made a face as I held the phone up to my ear.

"Hello?" 

"Hello is this Cassidy Holmes?" 

"This is she" The person said as I put the phone on speaker.

What in the hell?

"This is the representative from your audition for Euphor-" 

"Oh shit" I mumbled as I jumped and fumbled the phone between my fingers. 

"Excuse me?" 

"Oh nothing. Sorry." 

"I'm calling to let you know that you have gotten the role for Kayla Williams in Euphoria." 

I got up and did a little dance and covered my mouth because if I didn't… whew chile. 

"Oh my gosh thank you so much" 

"Shooting starts in 6 weeks at 9 AM sharp. Congratulations" 

9 AM. Sweet baby Jesus. What is with these people and early start times? 

"Ok. Thank you." 

I hung up the phone and celebrated like a mad man. I don't think anyone knows the struggle of trying to land a role after college. Shit's hard. But I got one and that's all that matters. Also, there's no better way to celebrate than with your best friend. Tonight we're about to drop it like it's hot.

"Destiny, girl!" I shouted as I threw my keys into the bowl next to me. 

"What?" She shouted from upstairs. 

"Get that ass down here, I have some news" I shouted back as I grabbed a mango Arizona. 

"You brought me down here for what? If it ain't food or drinks I don't want it bitch" Destiny said as she entered the kitchen. This girl had pink rollers in her hair with a cheetah print robe and some fuzzy slippers. Topped with some shades.
