Chapter Twelve

Owen

Buckets of icy water- Check!
Marbles- check!
Rubber chicken- check!

I looked up at the list. Standing in front of us was me, David and Courtney's project, which we had spend a great deal of time upon. All three of us were tired but proud that we had finally finished our prank setup.

I couldn't help but to smile in pride and even joy that our setup was finally finished. It took us 2 hours but it was done and we couldn't agree more.

All three of us stood in silence as gazed upon our contraption. It was perfect for us all; sure the principle was going to be looking a mess but it will be so worth it.

I couldn't help but to chuckle at the thought. Sure I was going to be the one for the blame but since this was the ending of junior year, it had to be special.

I then remember that all three of us would have one more year to spend as friends. I try to get the thought out of my head but lately, I couldn't help it.

See, David and Courtney had been with me since my epic journey to save the planet in the 2014 Alien War; The Great War Against Vargas, an mind-controlling alien with enough power to tear the universe apart... And himself. Ever since that fateful Earthquake and the encounter of Billy-Bee Jones, I wouldn't had went on my epic quest to stop Vargas. But I did and there was two people who had agreed to come along with me. And that was David and Courtney.

I knew David and Courtney ever since the beginning of Middle school and they had been right by my side ever since. And I had always saw them as family; With David as Equal, Brother and Rival and Courtney as my sister, they had come a part of me, just like I have done to them.

"Well..."

I jumped from my daze as Courtney gave me a small smile. Her curly, black hair, pacific blur eyes, and her red lips gave me a small scare. Normally, Courtney was always pulling me and David's ears or giving us wedgies but she rarely had moments when she had acted nice.

"Well what?", I said.

David cleared his throat and replied, "Owen, It's time to go. It's 10: 59 P.M. School doesn't start until Monday. That's two days left and then we have freedom!"

I couldn't help but smile at the thought of summer. Summer Vacation didn't sound that bad.

I looked at David. He was off dreaming about his summer. There was no point reading his mind about what he was going to do; Everyone knew David's strength was something not to mess with. His muscles had became harder and lean. The fat had become muscle after intense workouts in the heat. Plus, David was going to wear his rare White Gi, which was a gift from his dad. David typically wore his black muscle shirt and tan cargo pants and his brown and yellow Reebok hightops, unlike my common Orange-Red and white striped shirt and dark grey hoodie-vest, blue-jeans and Orange Converse hightops and my black cadet hat.

David began to walk out as well as Courtney. I pushed out all of my thoughts as I rushed go join them. However, as we began to leave, there was still one more thing eating at me.

David and his dad has been good. Their relationship has been improving.... Lucky.

Courtney and her family have been getting along just well. Still can't believe Mr. Rodney allowed her to see Nuns And Moses...

As for my family...

I tried to push back those thoughts as I tried to hold my tears. Its been hard for me to bond with my dad. My family had been finally divorced and it has been hell for me. I still want to have a connect with my adopted dad but he and I Don't click. And sometimes it made me upset and enraged that my brother-in-law had been talking to him.

I sighed in sadness as I bumped into David.

"Sorry David. My bad."

"Uh, Owen?"

"Yeah?"

"Look up. The sky is on it's period."

I looked up and gasp. The sky was definitely on its period. And it wasn't pretty.

Swirls of red, green and blue had swallowed the air. Orange lighting was flashing everywhere and whenever it had thundered, the ground shook.

"Guys, we need to get out of here!"

"YA THINK?!?!"

All three of us began to run. But that was the last thing I remember when I gasped upon the bolt of lightning had struck me...
