The sound of my father and brother fighting blasted me out of my dreams. The repetitive screaming at one another pissed me off.
I groggily stood up and made my way to the shower, only to remember that the "lovely" hell called a new school started today. Yay!! ......(sike). After my shower and a little contemplation on what to wear, I pull on a band tee, ripped jean shorts, a hoodie, and my favorite pair of maroon converse.
"Hey, little sis? What's up?" my brother says as he trys to hug me.
I punch him in the stomach and rub the sleep out my eyes, "Do yall ever stop yelling at each other like damn!!!"
He chuckles lightly and ruffles my hair, "Hey, it's not me. It's him!!"********************After eating breakfast, my brother drives us to school in his lime green Camaro. We salute each other bye, as we go our separate ways. I am 17 and my brother is 18, though people often mistake us for twins. This year, he will graduate and I will have one more year in this hell hole if we don't move again.
During my self given tour around the school, I see people staring at me. Some people are intrigued and others look disgusted. I am grateful for remembering to bring headphones. As I approach around the area where my locker should be, there was a band of cheerleaders crowding a guy. I say excuse me once and wait for them to move. When they don't, I push past them and I shove my extra school supplies in my locker before slamming it shut.Every single one of the girls looked at me. I grab his arm and pull him away from them as I walk towards the courtyard.
"What the hell was that for?!?", he says trying to get my attention as I tried to figure out where my next class was.
"Oh, my fucking bad for seeing how uncomfortable you looked and trying to help you. But please, if I made a mistake and read the room wrong, You are always free to go back."
Then I push past him and walk away.
