Kurapika's POV
I tied the shoelaces of my black and blue rubber shoes and slung my backpack over my shoulder, ready to leave. I told my parents the night before of my intention of travelling to Sapporo. They were surprised by my decision, but agreed since today was a Saturday.
"Where's he going?" Kyousuke, my little brother, asked from the dining table.
"To a nearby town. He's off to see someone and will be gone for a while," our mom said, amusement evident in her voice.
"Can I have his room while he's out?"
"Don't even think about it. I'm heading out now," I said, stepping outside.
"Have a safe trip!" my mom said.

After a few hours, I'm here in Sapporo, in front of one of its buildings. I glanced at my phone, making sure I'm at the right place.
Once I confirmed that this is where she works, I was about to go in when the girl I was looking for came out.

Mayumi's POV
My photoshoot for today had just ended. I changed into my regular clothes and went out of the building, wondering if I should stop by a cake shop.... when I see a blond boy that's about my age step in front of me.
I raised an eyebrow. "Can I help you?" I was used to random guys approaching me. It was unavoidable in my line of work.
"Are you Mayumi Nishizawa?"
"Yeah, I am. Why?"
"Sorry. I was just wondering if I can talk to you for a second."
I was also used to getting asked out by a number of those random guys, as well as rejecting them.
"Actually, I have somewhere to be. Now, if you'll excuse me...." I stepped around him and continued walking to the cake shop.
I was at the entrance of the shop when I heard a guy say, "I can treat you to some food in exchange for your time."
I turned toward the voice and saw that it was the same guy. I huffed. I really didn't want to, but free food was tempting...
"Fine, but only because you're paying."
