I want to change this book into third person, so from this point on the story is going to be in third person to save me changing it later.
Elizabeth slammed the pub door shut and began her trudge through the knee-deep snow. Harry was trying to catch up with her but all she wanted was to be alone. She was sick of being second best to him, she had to take a stand and fight for herself.
The list was the first thing on her mind, it was the only thing that made her special and individual, but only that would work if she could get everything she needed. And one thing she needed was the tears of her enemy; Parkinson. But she didn't want to just make that girl cry, she wanted to destroy her life.
She had already broken one of her friendships, but that had been easy. Elizabeth still had a lot of work to do to bring down the bitch. When she did, it would make her feel better, of course it would. It seemed strange to feel like the villain for once, and in a way she felt like she understood Voldemort's methods to kill her and Harry.
"Elizabeth." Harry's voice interrupted her thoughts. He reached out and grabbed Elizabeth by the wrist, making her look at him. "Do you really feel that way?"
"I don't want to talk right now." She said, pulling her grip from Harry.
"If that's how you feel then I'm sorry."
"And why's that?" Elizabeth asked him. He had nothing to be sorry for. He was just perfect compared to her. Everyone loved the great Harry Potter. "You can't do anything about it. It's just the way it is. People prefer you, I'm just telling the truth."
"That's not the truth."
"Shut up, Harry. You bloody well know it's true. Go back inside, they need you not me. I need to start being myself." She snapped, pushing Harry back towards the inn and storming away. He needed to know the cold, harsh truth; his sister was not a goody goody like him. She was a Slytherin, just like Voldemort and the Malfoys. She wasn't the person everyone wanted to be.
Elizabeth couldn't hear Harry behind her; maybe he had decided to go back. She hoped he had. Honestly, she didn't care, so she just kept walking away.
Parkinson was back on her mind; she was picturing every possible way to kill her- it normally made her feel better. She could do it the easy way (avada kedavra her ass), or she could be creative, and she had plenty of ideas. But for that moment, she had to push them aside; it was time for Quidditch.
-
Since Elizabeth had joined late she missed the first and biggest match for the team; Sytherin vs. Gryffindor. In a way, she was glad she hadn't had to choose between her house and her friends' house, which had won. But that didn't end very well for Harry and the Weasley twins. After the match the three of them had attacked Draco for insulting them, and wound up banned from Quidditch by Umbridge- which was amazing for the Slytherin team.
The team met out on the Quidditch pitch, and Elizabeth was raring to go. Even though the field was covered in thick layers of snow and the air was frozen, the team was determined to practice. She was going to do what she could to keep her mind off Harry.
"We gotta prepare for our next match in January; Ravenclaw. Although we all know it's pretty obvious that we're going to beat them. And if we don't..." Montague trailed off, narrowing his eyes and looking directly at Elizabeth. "Whoever's responsible is off the team."
"Well, then," Elizabeth raised the corners of her lips. "Let's hope we win."
Montague took a deep breath, then picked his broom up from where it lay sprawled out across the snow. "Here's how we'll play," The boy began to draw out a bird’s eye view of the left half of the pitch in the snow, adding in each player's position as he continued to talk. "Bletchley, you're Keeper, as usual. Purcey and I will be one team, Crabbe as our Beater, and Malfoy and Potter are the other team, Goyle's your Beater. Got it?"
Everyone nodded or replied with "got it", then in turn mounted their brooms. Elizabeth was the first one in the air, immediately noticing the four girls that sat in the stands, staring back at her. Parkinson and her friends- along with a rather unhappy cousin who sat a few seats down from them, smiling back at Elizabeth- all sat with wide smirks plastered to their faces, holding Omnioculars to their eyes to watch the team practice. She flashed the girls a smile and wave, before fying over to her position.
Draco hovered next to her, and grinned wildly when Elizabeth took her place next to him. "You ready for this, Potter?"
"Of course," She scoffed. "Just don't mess this up, Malfoy."
-
It was while later, when Elizabeth had changed from her Quidditch robes and was putting away her broom, she began to feel better. She could hear footsteps behind her, probably one of the boys on the team she assumed, but she was wrong.
"Potter." A soft voice came from behind her, Elizabeth turned to see one of Parkinson's friends, standing just in front of her. Daphne Greengrass. The girl had light blonde hair that was framed around her face, falling just below her shoulders. Her long sharp eyebrows were a darker colour, bringing out the bright blue in her eyes. "I don't think we've ever been formally introduced."
"Am I supposed to care?" Elizabeth laughed, strutting up to the girl who stood before her. "What do you want, sweetheart? Are you here to sing to me? Or maybe, you're here to invite me to hang out sometime. Oh, I know, you want to bow down before me, I am quite well known in this school."
"I'm not here for you." She snapped, and then took a deep breath. Elizabeth raised her eyebrows. "I'm here to see my boyfriend."
"Who? Crabbe or Goyle? Best you'd get."
"Graham." The girl said proudly. A giggle slipped through Elizabeth's lips, but she couldn't help herself. She burst into laughter, cackling and bending over to catch her breath as Greengrass stood in confusion. Of course, Greengrass didn't know what her boyfriend was doing behind her back, and that it was with her best friend.
"You really have no clue, do you?" Elizabeth asked through her fits of laughter. She looked up at the girl, who was looking at the floor. Did she know? After a few more seconds of laughter, Elizabeth let the realisation of Greengrass' knowledge hit her. She stood straighter, brushing herself off. "Or you do know that your boyfriend and best friend are having a little bit of fun behind your back. Well, its not behind your back now, is it?"
"You're the only one who wants to bring her down and... well, we want the same things. Can you... help me?"
Yeah, this is an actual update...
The Girl Who Lived, well, Wonder/Wander (I changed the names and cover, if you didn't already notice) is back! It won't be as frequently updated as before, maybe once or twice a week? I dunno, at least it's back though, right? So, yeah. Merry Christmas for yesterday too! Consider this a christmas present ;)
