Star (Under Revision)

Chapter 1

        It had been a year since I ran away. Dream and Buck were fine. I would ride them on and off through the days. We were riding through the woods. Buck was right behind me. He would follow me everywere now. Thre was a gleaming light I could see through the trees.

"Canter." I said to Dream squeezing my heels to her side. Dream took voice commands quite easily now. As we got closer I could see it was a house with a barn. I slowed Dream to a stop and got off of her. It's strange to see a house and barn in the middle of the woods.

"Stand." I commanded to both of my horses. The windows were a bit grimy. I looked inside and saw the house was vacant with sheets covering the furniture. Dream nickered at me.

"What?" I cooed. I knew she probably didn't understand me. Dream trotted towards the barn.

"Oh. You want to go in a stall." I realized. So I put Dream and Buck into stalls. Then I checked to see if the door to the house was open. It wasn't so I picked the lock. Inside was very old fashioned. The blue wallpaper was starting to curl off and there was dried mud all over the floor. This was pretty bad.

        

What I needed to do was take the sheets off of the furniture. The couch was green. The color was faded and dusty. It was accompanied by a tan chair. The bedroom was the dustiest. The only light was peering out from one of the windows. I opened the curtains. The bed had no blanket or bedspread on it. The rest of the house was not so bad.

        

Finally, I couldn't be found. I wanted to explore around the property. Buck looked ready to run, so I hopped on him. We came out to an open field. One minute later I saw what made my mouth drop.

        

Wild mustangs. There were bachelor stallion and bands of horses with foals. One bachelor stallion caught my eye. A grullo that looked to be about three or four. He was so spirited.He ran across the field, not caring about the other horses.

"He's gorgeous!"
