"Um, hi." I calmly said. The girl walked forward a bit more. I took a tiny step back. She laughed. How could I be so stupid? I'm caught now.
"I'm Lucy." She said, holding out her hand.
"I'm Meg." I said, shaking her hand. She looked very friendly with her rosy red cheeks and her blonde hair. She had a smile plastered across her face.
"So, what are you doing here?" She asked. I could here Star whinnying.
"Um I came here to ride my horses." I said, giving an explanation for the whinnying the opposite direction of the wild horse auction. Crap. Crap. CRAP!
She nodded at me. I shifted my weight to the leg that wasn't broken a year ago, when I thought my parents died. That made me think of Abby and Shaylin. I miss them so much.
I was going to be back soon. I just needed time.
"That's cool. Where are they?" Lucy asked.
"Oh. I found this abandoned barn and I keep them their while I watch the wild horses." I lied. Bad explanation, Meg. Despite that awful excuse, she believed me.
