Athena
I've been going to lessons for about a month now. We would meet up about two times a week at least, at the same place, his house in his "studio".
Sometimes the other men were there, most times actually, but sometimes they weren't, and those were my favorite times, because Jeordie and I could have actual conversations, and not feel like we had to watch what we said, because well, one of the men were always around.
Jeordie was a kind and soft person. He would always make sure that I drove safely, or ask me about my day.
I could really talk to him, and he really talked to me too. I knew him on a level made me feel so blessed to know him on.
The only thing different about me since these lessons besides me knowing how to play bass (a little), is I have noticed myself caring more about my appearance. I would do my hair more and put more thought into my appearance. I really wanted to tell myself it wasn't because of Jeordie, but I really couldn't fool myself if I tried.
Today, I put my hair into a ponytail, and put on some lip-gloss, and mascara.
My mom stops me on my way out of the door
"Love ya, kiddo" She tells me with slurred words, her breath reeked like alcohol.
"Bye, love ya" I say, sneaking out the door
My mother still drank, all the time. She was sometimes really mean, and threatened violence, but other times she was nice to me, and it was confusing. I really don't talk to her at all...
I get in my car and turn on the radio, when Nine Inch Nails starts to play through my speakers, I quietly hummed along to their new tune.
When I pull up to the drive way, I noticed the big van was there, meaning, all the 'men' were also there. They weren't that bad, actually, just some of them were really weird, and the "lead singer" could be arrogant sometimes. He would always be flirty with me.
I knew everyone's names by now, but I choose not to use them because I never address them anyways.
I get out of my car, and Jeordie is waiting for me.
"Hey, we should get to the basement quick, the guys are uptight today" He says, putting an arm around me and leading me
I give a small nod, and go in the direction he is walking.
I hear the guys in the other rooms, talking and moving things around, there was aggravation on their voice, and you could feel the tension in that house.
"Twiggs, is that you??" I hear one of the guys call
It sounded like the tall one, with long black hair and a lip ring. Often referred to as Brian, or "Marilyn" or "Manson". I thought it was a little odd, but then again, I might have been bias, because I didn't really like "Marilyn", he was extremely arrogant.
"Yeah!" Jeordie calls back
He looks at me, and notices me studying his face. He gives me a little smile, but we don't speak until we get alone in the basement
"So whats wrong?" I ask him
He shrugs
I place a hand on his leg, and he stares at it for a bit, surprised
"No, what is wrong?" I ask again
"You aren't gonna' rat, are you?" He asks me
I raise an eyebrow
