It had been already 75 hours since they had first heard the news of Brian being dead, and although they showed it less, the pain was still as powerful. And there were huge problems to face. The Beatles had no manager anymore.
Paul had called the others to gather and talk about that problem in his house. First John had refused. "You're taking it over already. It seems like you're the leader now", He'd said. "Well, no one else is doing it, so why not? We need to talk about this, it's our future and I'm trying to help to fix it again", Paul had answered. In the end he'd agreed to come over.
Paul sighed. "Luckily we have no tours planned." He said. Ringo laughed softly. "Oh no, that'd have made this way more complicated." John thought for a moment. "I think we need to stop touring. Or doing concerts at all." The others looked up, astonished. "Are you serious?" George asked. John nodded. "I mean, it prevents a lot of problems, and well, we can't hear ourselves playing anyway, so how can the audience? And with all the threats about the 'bigger than jesus' thing... and to be honest, the songs we're writing now, are not suitable for live performances, with all the sound effects. It wouldn't be a strange decision."
"Oh... well... it's an idea..." Paul started. "I think we should do it." George interrupted. "There's no point in touring anymore. I think that with... Brian's death, we've gotten into a new period in our lives. In the studio."
Paul sighed. "What do you think, Ringo?" Ringo hesitated. "I think we should vote." He said. Paul nodded. "Hands in the air for stopping with touring then." Two hands were raised immediately. Then a third one was held up hesitantly. Paul sighed. "That's it then. That was it. Excuse me." He quickly stood up and ran to the door which led to the stairs. The others looked at each other. "Should we go upstairs and check if he's alright?" George asked. John and Ringo nodded and stood up.
They found Paul in his bedroom, crying. They sat next to him on the bed. "I don't want to-" Paul breathed in, shaking. "- stop doing concerts!"
"I know you love performing, but it's much easier this way. Sorry." John said, putting an arm around Paul's shoulders. "We can still do a few concerts" Ringo started. John gave him a warning look. "-Sometimes." Ringo patted Paul's back. "And recording can be a lot of fun too! There's so much to discover!" George added. Paul smiled sadly. Then all the tears that hadn't been cried the past few days started to flow, and John, Ringo and George all got Paul into a group hug that lasted for more than half an hour.
