"Fine!" Patricia shouted. "I did kiss your brother!"

Gasps echoed throughout the room.

"I knew it you, pant killer!" Flora yelled. Her eyes were wide and murderous.

"Why does it matter to you?" Jillian said quietly.

"Are you seriously on her side!" Flora pointed at Patricia.

"Flora, why does this matter so much to you?" Maria echoed Jillian's question.

Flora looked around at everyone. Her furrowed eyebrows softened and she almost looked sad. "He's my brother, my protector, despite our differences we are family and he's my friend." She paused for a moment. "I don't want to lose him."

Patricia reached out and touched Flora's shoulder. "I'm sorry," she said softly. "I don't mean to take him away from you."

Flora looked up at her, "It's okay. I'm sorry I over reacted."

Maria suddenly shrieked and all eyes went to her. "OLIVER TEXTED ME!"

"OMG, OMG!!!"

"He said he can see me!" Maria yelled.

"Wait, where is he!?" Jillian whispered urgently.

"Text him back," Patricia said.

Maria texted him and asked him where he was. He responded almost immediately saying, I'm with you.

"This is really creepy," Flora whispered.

Maria texted back, Where?

Oliver responds, with you.

"What do we do?" Jillian asked.

"We get weapons and prepare to defend ourselves." Patricia said defiantly.

It was the middle of the night so the girls crept upstairs and tip-toed into the kitchen. Maria opened her family'a drawer of knives and started handing them out.

Patricia got a large cleaver. Flora got a serrated bread knife. Maria gave herself a small sharp knife. And Jillian received a pocket knife and a flashlight.

"Is everybody geared up?" Maria asked.

"Yup!"

"I've got a large knife."

"Mine is bigger."

"I'll be the judge of that."

"Okay stop fighting everyone. We need a plan," Patricia said.

"We can't fight him unless we find him first," Flora responded.

"We should split up and search," Maria suggested.

"But if one of us finds him how will we alert the others?" Jillian questioned.

"Duh! How we always communicate!" Flora said.

"Texting!" They all said in unison.

Patricia was assigned upstairs. She quietly crept upstairs and began searching. Upon entering the bathroom the ran into a dark male figure. "Who are you?" She said holding the knife in front of her.

"Patricia?" The voice said. I was a deep warm voice, tired and kind.

"Dave?" Patricia said surprised.

"Yeah, it's me."

"What are you doing here?" Patricia asked.

"I'm hanging out with Rob and Oliver," He responded. "We're spending the night."

"Oh, that explains why Oliver said he was with us," Patricia responded.

"Oh yeah, we were all in the living room watching a movie when Rob mentioned Maria was having some friends over too." Dave said. "Then Oliver decided to text Maria."

"Oh."

"Patricia, I really like you," Dave blurted out.

Patricia was at a loss for words. "I like you too."

"Do you maybe want to go to a movie or something?" Dave asked.

"Sure, I would like that very much."

"Good, umm about the day of that dance," Dave mumbled. "I don't know what got into me when I kissed you. I didn't mean to invade your space or anything."

"It was quite alright." Patricia said smiling. She looked up at him and slowly leaned in and kissed him just for a second. She backed away a small smile on her lips. Dave's smile met hers stayed there for awhile.
