A blonde lady by the name of Maria Stark is sitting in the famliy living room playing the piano while singing a sweet tune.
"Wake up dear and say goodbye to your father." Maria said to her son as her husband Howard walked into living room lifting up the blanket that covered their son as he laid on the couch.
"Who's the homeless person on the couch?" A young Tony Stark stands up now to face his father with his Santa hat on his head.
"This is why I love coming home for Christmas. Right before you leave town." A smirk plays on his lips.
"Be nice dear, he's studying abroad." Maria tells her husband.
"Really? Which broad?" Howard takes the Santa Hat from his sons head. "What's her name?"
"Y/M/n." Tony says to his father. Howard nodded his head already knowing that he was dating Y/M/n throughout high school and now college.
"Do me a favor, try not to burn the house down before Monday." Howard says to Tony.
"Okay so it's Monday! I won't plan my toga party accordingly. Where are you going?"
"Your father is flying us to the Bahamas for a little getaway." Maria responded.
"We might have to make a quick stop at the- "
"Pentagon. Right?" Tony asks "Don't worry you're gonna love the holiday menu at the commissary,"
"You know, they say that sarcasm is a metric for potential. If that's true you're going to be a great man someday." Howard said before leaving to get the couples bags.
Tony stood at the other side of the room against the wall, arms folded over his chest with a mad expression.
" He does miss you when you're not here." Tony didn't flinch sat his mothers soft tone. "Frankly you're going to miss us because this is the last time we will all be together." Tony looks down without a word. " You know what is about to happen." Maria slings her bag over her shoulder and looks at Tony. He still looking and listening but not contributing to the conversation. "Say something. If you don't you'll regret it." Her voice weak and soft.
Howard walks back into the room with the bags for their getaway. He then walks towards his family. Tony turns his head toward Howard.
"I love you dad. And I know you did the best you could." He turned his head back to his mother. She leans forward to give Tony a kiss on then cheek before leaving the room.
The present day Tony stood in the back of the scene that has previously unfolded with his head down.
"That's how I wished it happened. Binarily Augmented Retro-Framing. Or, BARF. Gosh I've got to work on that acronym. An extremely costly method. Uh, hijacking the hippo campus.. to clear traumatic memories." he leans over to blow out a candle that then makes the room around him turn into pixels. Slowly making the last scene fade away.
In the wings of the stage, stood his daughter Y/n and one of his assistance ... if you will.
"BARF? He's calling it BARF?!"
"Is everything alright? What's wrong?" Y/n was genuinely concerned for this man. He was so angry over one minor thing.
"No, you can't do anything. And you will never be able to." With that he stormed away and out of the auditorium. Y/n paid him no more mind and returned her focus back to the stage.
"It doesn't change the fact that they never made it to the airport. Or all of the ways I tried processing my grief." Tony took off his glasses and held them in his hand before looking at the audience in front of him.
