chaper 1: meeting him

i was just sitting on my bed at home on my phone. then there's a knock on my door
"who is it?" i ask and my sisters, maya and amy walked into my room
"what?" i say sitting up
"mom says you have to take us to the mall" she says. i have a lot of siblings, i'm the oldest, maya is 14, amy is 12, ella is 7, jake is 5, and jack is 1. i spend most of my time watching them.
"no" i say
"mom!" amy screams
"fine." i say getting up, "you're paying for your own shit though." i say and they both smile.
i grab my stuff and walk out to my car, my sisters followed. once we get there i follow them into an ardens.
(i'm canadian so idk if they have any of these stores in the states lol)
they walk up to the bathing suits and i follow. amy points at a bathing suit that shows more than it covers. "you're not wearing that." i say
"why not" she whines
"that would barely cover your nipples. plus. it won't fit." they get a few things from that store and we go to the food court. i sit down while they get food.
"excuse me is this seat taken" a boy says and i look up. holy fuck was he hot.
"well my sisters are getting food, so for now, no" i smile and he smiles back. he sits down
"i'm jaden" he smiles
"zoe" i say
"could i get your number?" he asks
"yeah" i say and he hands me his phone.
"so you're telling me if i call this number your phone will ring?" he smirks
"go for it" i say and put my phone on the table
he calls it and it rings
"that's pretty cool" he says and i laugh
"so, you doing anything tonight?" he asks
"nope" i say
"great. i'll pick you up at 9" he winks and my sisters walk up
"mom said no boys" amy says and jaden laughs.
"see you later" he smiles and walks away
"just for that, i'm talking your fries" i say taking a fry from amy. she pouts and starts eating. after that we went to a h&m. i saw jaden again and he walked up to me while amy and maya were looking at clothes.
"hey" he says
"hi again" he smiles
"do you care if my friends are there?" he asks
"nope. where are we even going?" i ask
"my place?" he asks
"sounds like a plan" i smile and he walks back to his friends.
we shop until about 6 when my mom tells us to get back home. when we got back i hear my phone go off. it was jaden.
jaden:) : you still wanna come over?
me: yeah man
jaden:) : how about you just come now?
me: sure. what's the addy
he sends the address and i fix my makeup a bit. i go upstairs. "i'm just going to a friends for a bit" i say to my mom. she says okay and i go.
his house isn't far from mine so i get there in a few minutes. once i'm there i text him and say i'm here. he says he's in the backyard so i walk into his back yard. they're all sitting in a circle around a fire pit. i sit in a chair next to jaden.
"hey. this is chase and noen. this is zoe" he says. i recognize them from the mall.
"how long have you lived here?" noen asks
"about a year. after my dad died the church banned my mom so we moved here." i shrug
"oh sorry about that" he says
"it's fine. i like it here better. plus la is a lot warmer than canada" i laugh
we talk for a bit and once it gets dark we light the fire. after a bit we go back into jadens room and noen and chase leave at around 2 am. we're just sitting on his bed talking and my mom calls me.
"hi" i say
"can you please come home? jack is losing it and i can't take it anymore" she says
"i'm at a friends though" i say
"can they come here? i don't like asking but you know you're his favourite" she says
"do you want to come to my house?" i ask jaden
"sure" he says
"okay i'll be there in a few" i say to my mom and hang up.
"i just have to put my brother to bed and then my mom won't bug us or anything" i say
he drives his own car and follows me to my house. i take him into my room "i'll just be a second" i say and go upstairs to jack. i could hear him crying i go up to him and he stops crying instantly.
"bedtime" i smile and tuck him in and he closes his eyes. i leave the room and go back downstairs.
"that was quick" jaden says
"yeah" i laugh and sit next to him on my bed
we put a horror movie on and lied at the back of my bed. when there was a jump scare i put my head into jadens chest. once i realized what i did i quickly sat back up. later on in the movie he put his arm around my shoulder and i cuddled up into his chest and fell asleep on him.
i woke up and went to the bathroom. i start washing my hands and then i hear a scream from my room. it was ella. "shit" i say and run out of the bathroom.
"what are you doing in here?!" i say and push her out of my room.
"sorry" i say to jaden
"it's fine" he laughs
then i get a text from my mom
mom: ella told me there's a boy in your room
me: you told me to bring my friend here so
mom: come upstairs we need to talk
me: right now?
mom: yes. it will only be a second.

"sorry. my mom needs me upstairs again. i'll only be a second" i say and jaden nods.
i go upstairs and see my mom on the couch and i sit down.
"go play upstairs for a minute" she says to ella
ella goes upstairs and i look at my mom
"what" i say
"well. since you have a boy in the house... and i haven't talked to you about..." she starts but i cut in and get up
"woah woah woah no. i've already been filled in" i say
"you're at that age where.."
"i'm 17!" i say and put my face in my hands
"well it's just... i want you to be safe..." she says
"okay! i get it!" i say
"do you?" she says
"yes!" i say and walk back downstairs shaking my head.
once i get to my room we sit and talk for a bit again.
"do you wanna go out for lunch?" he asks
"yeah sure. where?" i say and grab my wallet
"you're not gonna need that" he says grabbing the wallet out of my hand
"hey!" i say and try to grab it.
he laughs and holds it up over his head. i try to reach it but i cant
"that's not fair" i complain
"yes it is. it's not my fault you're short" he smiles. i want to kiss him. wait no. i just met him. but he's so cute.
i jump up and get the wallet and try to run but he grabs my hips from behind and bear hugs me. he spins me around and puts out his hand for the wallet. i sigh and hand it to him. he throws it on the bed and looks at me. he puts his hands on my hips and leans in for a kiss. oh my god.
our lips touch together and we stay there for a few seconds. once we pulled away he looked at me with a cute smile. i smiled back and grabbed my wallet.
"you're not paying" he says
"watch me" i smile and walk out of my room. he follows.
