Tame by The Sheriff [gxg]

Chapter 2

Victoria Burton looks at the clock hang on the wooden wall in front of her in her office. It's still 3 o'clock. She sighs. Back to her chair, she sits and put her long legs on the full desks.

"It's gonna be a long day doesn't it Fred?" She speaks to the old bulldog who were asleep near the wooden door. Fred opens his eyes a little bit to see what she's talking about and go back to sleep. "Oh come on Fred, don't ignore me."

"I wish I could just wear a tank top right now," she wish. Lean against her chair with hands above her head, her eyes start closing slowly.

As the sheriff, she always use her uniform shirt. The fabric cling to her body graciously. The heat makes her open two buttons of her shirt. She is thinking to open the third too. Her pants is fit to her legs like the way she like it. And at last, her favorite pairs of black boots, her lucky boots.

It's a hot day in Burton, about 32°C. It feels like oven inside her office. Sheriff office is an old building. It has one big room, small kitchen and bathroom, and three small cells connected to big room.

There's only two desk on the room, sheriff's and deputy's. It's always full with paperwork and coffee mugs. On top of ceiling there is an old fan who supposed to end misery for heated human below. Of course its performs poorly.

Tori is the first woman sheriff in this small town. She replace her father who died in peace two years ago. She grow up here, studied law in Boston and come back to Burton when she heard her father is dying. Fred always been there accompany Tory wherever she goes.

Since teenager, her father always taught her martial arts and how to shoot. It's necessary, he always said. Burton family had always been the sheriff from generation to generation. So being small town sheriff feels just right for her. Towns people also love her. After all, her family name is same with the town. Call it legacy.

She heard cars on the road. Hmm...must be Jeremy. But with whom, she thought. Cars stopped in front of sheriff office.

"Hey boss, I catch this woman outside the town. She violated the speed limit and looking troubled. So I bring her here, thought you can help," said young Deputy with big grin in his face. Tori even catch a glimpse of red on his cheeks. Question marks formed in Tori mind. "Okay, where is she now?", she asked.

Then the woman in question walk in.
