Chapter 4

So early in the morning, Xiao Zhan already had a lot of questions in his mind. First of all, who is Wang Yibo? Second, why did that person help him? Third, how does that make any sense?

"You actually don't know him?" Zhuocheng asked as he drank a glass of hot choco.

"If I knew him, I wouldn't ask, right?" Xiao Zhan said as he rolled his eyes. "What did he tell you anyway?" he asked as he was waiting for his friend to speak. "I honestly don't know what time it was but when he called, he said: You're Zhuocheng? You're friend is drunk, come at his apartment and look after him, the keys are under the rug. That's all and he ended the call," Zhuocheng explained.

"Oh? He must have saw your number at my sticky note in the fridge," Xiao Zhan said and scratched his back. "Aren't you worried that guy brought you here?"

"He didn't do anything so it's fine? And dude, it's just a one time thing, it's not like I'll meet him or anything," Xiao Zhan replied and Zhuocheng sighed.

"How are you even sure? I heard that guy was so cold and a snob at almost everyone, maybe he'll ask you for payment or something. Even I find it rude when he called!" Zhuocheng explained. "You're so dramatic Zhuocheng, I didn't even know who he is and I don't even know how he looks like, we'll probably never cross paths. Besides, it's not like I did something shameless last night, right? Like for him to come after me?" Xiao Zhan replied and drank a glass of water.

"You know what? I don't even know what you did last night and you probably got drunk too much. I'll just let you be, just be cautious of him," Zhuocheng said and stood up from the stool. "I wasn't that drunk last night? If I was, something must have happened and the man would surely get angry, wait- not gonna stay for breakfast?" Xiao Zhan asked. "I'm gonna meet up with Lu-jie this morning."

"Seriously? Count me in!"

"No, it's a family thing, she's also gonna let me meet her boyfriend," Zhuocheng said and headed to the door. Xiao Zhan frowned and then pouted, "Tsk, fine. Just tell me who's the boy who won Lu-jie's heart," Xiao Zhan said and waved at Zhuocheng. "Yeah, I'll punch him if he mistreats her."

When Zuocheng left, Xiao Zhan sulked on the kitchen counter and stared at the wall dumbly. Ah, she has a boyfriend already. Xiao Zhan thought sadly and sighed. "I guess I'll be forever single in my college days," he said to himself with a frown and went to the fridge.

There was no point in sulking anymore, Xiao Zhan knew at the back of his mind that he didn't have the chance with Li Qin but he kept denying it. He lazily took 2 eggs from the fridge and took a frying pan.

Adding a bit of oil in the frying pan and waited it to boil, Xiao Zhan took his phone to play some music while cooking. Scrolling down on spotify and tapped his playlist. Loveshot by EXO was playing as he sang along. The oil eventually started boiling, cracking the eggs slowly, he fried them.

After five minutes of cooking, he prepared his own meal and started to eat silently.

Xiao Zhan cleaned his plate after eating and went to the living room. He felt extremely lonely and bored at the same time. There was still a bit of hangover left so he rested for a while on the couch and turned on the TV.

Suddenly, his phone vibrated. He checked it and saw a new message from Jiacheng.

Jiacheng 10:03 AM:

Zhan! I didn't know you were close with that cold dude!

What does he mean cold dude? Xiao Zhan thought and it immediately clicked in this mind. Ah, the man who brought him home last night. What was his name again?
