Chapter 18

Wang Yibo was never the type of person to believe on baseless rumors. He'll only believe them when he sees the legit evidence. He was currently in a family gathering with no one to talk to. Wang Yibo isn't a fan of interacting with people he's not close with.

He sighed as he stared at his phone. His lockscreen and background was his adorable boyfriend of course. It was a candid shot with Xiao Zhan smiling happily as he hugged the medium size teddy bear in his arms. The picture was taken when they were at the theme park for the 3rd time. Since they wanted to challenge themselves and have the quickest time in riding and trying everything there.

The said man checked the time and frowned since it was too slow and he was getting bored.

Wang Yibo honestly wants to go home, it's been a while since he talked to Xiao Zhan personally, it seems like he was avoiding him everytime they saw it each other. It must be the sudden kiss from Emily outside the campus. He too was surpised with Emily's bold actions that he was too stunned to react sooner and because of that, Xiao Zhan ran away. He wasn't even replying to his calls and texts. Yibo just hopes that things will turn for the better. They didn't spend much that time either since Emily was always there popping up in the wrong time.

His phone suddenly buzzed and he thought it was Xiao Zhan who finally messaged him. His smile quickly disappeared when he saw who it was.

Xiao Zhan sat on the floor for who knows how long. Zhuocheng immediately came running where his best friend was located when he heard the news of Yibo bursting into anger at him. Obviously, the rumors spread like wildfire around their campus.

"Zhan, what happened? Are you-?" He crouched down as he faced his best friend worriedly. There were soft hiccups and sobs coming from Xiao Zhan and Zhuocheng understood what happened. He caressed Xiao Zhan's back and tried assisting him to stand up, "Let's move to a less crowded place, okay?"

Xiao Zhan didn't say anything as he followed Zhuocheng. They stopped at the back of a building and Zhuocheng gave him a bottle of water. "Here, drink it. Be careful."

He receive the bottle and slowly drank it, "T-Thanks, Zhuocheng."

Zhuocheng pursed his lips and sighed, "It's either you said it or he find out before you could say it?" Xiao Zhan wipped the corner of is mouth with his sleeve and replied, "Second one. I don't know how he found out."

"Probably someone told him," Zhuocheng said with a frown. "It can't be Seungyoun..." Xiao Zhan trailed off and didn't bother to dwell at the other person. "He is a possibility. But that would be out of character if he did. Wasn't he helping you this whole time?"

"Yeah, he's a good friend."

"You should talk to hin after he calms down. Surely he was too angry and frustrated to listen," Zhuocheng said as he gave his best friend a pat on the back. "I don't know Zhuocheng, I'll probably never have a chance with him again. I messed up."

"Hey," Zhuocheng started as he internally sighed, he wasn't really good at comforting people but he still tried. Besides, Xiao Zhan is his closest friend and he needs support. "Where's the Xiao Zhan who doesn't give up despite falling down?"

"He's long gone," he replied blankly. "Who pursued writing love letters and not giving up?" Xiao Zhan slightly glared at him with the mention of the letter and Zhuocheng chuckled awkwardly, "Right, not that. But it's been a while since I talked to the cheerful and annoying best friend of mine."
