It was the crack of dawn on the highest mountaintop of Wisdom Spring. Everything, or as it seemed, was quiet, peaceful, and still. Wisps of grey smoke furled steadily from the chimneys of the two castles there, and all is cool, and still.
But something, or as it seemed to Mona, the famous gifted witch, who was the most subtle potioneer and gifted seer the world has ever seen, and was driven into hiding, along with a wizard, by the name of Brutus the Brutal, was going to happen. Brutus, as it seemed, was going to try and enslave Mona, with the potion called Daidn. Daidn makes the drinker obey whatever the one with the antidote tells them to, but Mona knows just the charm to prevent it.
And then there came a knock on the great oaken doors.
Brutus was standing there, with a horribly smug smile on his face, and a tiny crystal phial with some tasty-looking golden liquid inside. Mona, knowing Brutus's secret plan, immediately recognised Daidn within the phial. She drew a wand from inside the sleeve of her robe, pointed it at Brutus, and cried, "Maledicat Spiritus!!"
The effect was instantaneous. Brutus's castle vanished in a puff of smoke, and he himself became pearly white and transparent, and his wand also vanished in a puff of smoke. He could only stare at Mona with wide, pallid eyes.
"That's what you'd get trying to enslave someone. You only have two options now. You can remain as a ghost, or else pass my curse to another living soul, but-" for Brutus had been looking triumphant, "-you yourself would fade from life forever, instead of proceeding to the afterlife. Now, leave Wisdom Spring, and may you never be seen by mine, or anyone's eyes again!" Mona hissed coldly.
And he was never seen by her.
However, Brutus, being "the Brutal", soon got tired of being a ghost. He had settled himself down in a forest in China, during the Han Dynasty. He decided to have some fun, and came zooming out into town at high speed. He collided with an old man, and as Mona stated, passed the curse to him.
This old man was wise, and particularly careful. However, he, too, collided with someone, and therefore passed the curse to him.
The boy's name was Tom, and surprisingly, he lived in Wisdom Spring. He was normally sweet and nice, but upon catching the curse, he became heartless and evil, often hurting people, and there was a definite drop in his school marks.
More than five centuries have passed, and Mona had long since passed away. However, she had one last living descendant, also a subtle potioneer and gifted seer, by the name of Meganne. She kept to herself, in the castle Mona had left to her descendants. She was wise, and spent most of her time studying books.
Yet Meganne did not seem to know about the return of the Cursed Ghost.
The Prologue is short because it is a prologue. Writer's notes will be in bold.
