I do not own any of the characters in this book, Rick Riordan does!

Percy POV:

I was broken, shattered, smashed into a thousand shards. I guess you could call it heartbreak but to me it was more than that. It was betrayal. I lay there looking up into the face of the family I once loved and felt nothing.

Flashback:

A couple of weeks ago, Poseidon sent me a half-brother, Mark. At first I was thrilled to have another relative until I saw the hatred in Mark's soul. He detested me, detested the fact I was the Hero of Olympus, and the Saviour of the World. He whispered about me behind my back, turning campers against me, causing them to believe I was a fraud and a fake hero! However, my friends (the Seven, Reyna and Nico) stuck with me, refusing to believe Mark and that belief kept me going. Until one day Mark decided it wasn't enough to just turn the campers against me, he turned my friends against me by stealing their belongings and framing me for it! First it was Thalia,  when Mark stole her bow and blamed it on me. Then Piper and Hazel thought I stole their cornucopia and made Arion hate Hazel. Frank sided with Hazel and Jason sided with Piper. Leo hated me because his best friends did and Nico began to believe it was my fault Bianca died. Soon Annabeth was the only thing I had and I wasn't going to let her slip through my fingers that easily. I loved her!

Later on in flashback:

It was a beautiful summers day, the sky reflecting my happiness, and I was running in excitement down the worn, stone path to the beach. Today was the day. The day I told Annabeth of my undying love for her and I was going to propose! I was so nervous my palms were sweating and my knees shaking. I had seen how they proposed in movies, on their knees and looking up into the others eyes. I planned to do it real dramatic, taking her on a walk in the sunset. Romantic or what?

As I arrived on the beach I heard voices. Going closer I saw a couple making their first kiss. I chuckled quietly to myself, remembering mine and Annabeth's first kiss, the joy I had felt in loving her. That was when the couple drew away from each other, taking a break from kissing. My footsteps faltered, the boy was my half-brother Mark, and the girl...NO! The girl was blonde and athletic, with beautiful stormy eyes shining silver in the light of the sinking sun. Annabeth!!!

"ANNABETH!!!" I cried..."WHAT ARE YOU DOING???" I had fallen to my knees on the sand, staring. "Oh! Percy, p-p-please! I-I'm s-so sorry! I s-swear it's not what you think!

" Why???" The word choked it's way out of my mouth. Annabeth had tears streaming down her face. I threw the silver-grey box at her feet and stumbled into the woods.

In the woods:

I ran on into the night, darkness slowly setting in, when out from the shadows I heard a voice.

"Well well well" it snarled. "If it isn't the 'great' hero of Olympus!"

I knew that voice.           (BTW anything in italics is thoughts from the persons POV that I am writing about!)

Hyperion, Krios and Iapetus stepped out of the shadows...
