That's All We'll Ever Be

---Justine's POV---
I was in my bed playing Zelda on my Nintendo Switch when I heard something hit my window. I looked over to see a pebble hit my window a second time. Then, a third time. I walked over and opened the window. Ro was down on the ground, still in her dress from dinner.

"What do you want Ro?" I asked.

"To say sorry." Ro replied. "Even if I had known what the others were up to, I wouldn't of done it. When you weren't answering your phone, I decided to do things the old fashioned way. Romeo and Juliet style." I huffed.

Is this more of the prank? I thought.

"I made you a cake." Ro stated. "It's a heart shaped mint cake with chocolate icing." My head perked up.

"Come in," I stated. "Put the cake on the counter, and back away slowly so nobody gets hurt." Ro walked into the house. I made my way to the main level. Ro placed the cake on the counter and backed away slowly. I pulled out one of my knives and sliced into the cake and pulled out a thick slice of cake. It was a minty green inside. I grabbed a fork and took a bite. The perfect amount of mint. Yummy!

"Well?" Ro asked.

"I guess I can let you off the hook." I replied.

"Justine?" Ro asked. "Are you okay?"

"I'm alright." I lied. "Why?"

"That wasn't you I saw back there." Ro stated. "I'm really worried about you." Ro turned to walk away, but I grabbed her hand before she could.

"Do you mind staying here tonight?" I asked.

"Of course." Ro replied. "Why though?"

"I just don't want to be lonely." I replied.

"I'll take the-" Ro began.

"No," I stated. "I don't mind sharing a bed with you." I let go of her hand.

"Okay." Ro said. I smiled. We then went up to my room. Ro went to the bathroom and changed out of her dress and into a pair of shorts and a black T-shirt. We both crawled into bed.

"Good night Chocolate Chip." I whispered.

"Chocolate Chip?" Ro asked.

"Yeah," I replied. "You're my little Chocolate Chip. Or chippy for short." Ro went red.

"Good night my little Grilled Cheese." Ro joked. I smiled at her.

"I like that." I stated. Ro cozied up into bed and I wrapped my arms around her.

~The following morning~

"Why do I find this cute?!" I heard Jenna shout. I jumped up, which startled Ro.

"Jenna." I groaned. "What are you doing in my room?"

"Did you forget?" Jenna asked. "Mom and dad are coming tonight?"

"Right." I mumbled.

"What time is it?" Ro grumbled.

"10 a.m." Jenna replied. Ro got up and stretched.

"I better get home." Ro yawned. "Cookie and Blueberry Muffin need their morning walk." Ro left the room and went to her car.

"So....?" Jenna cooed.

"Shut up Jenna." I stated. "Nothing happened." Matty walked into the room and barked at me. I picked him up and scratched his ears.

"Why was Ro sleeping here?" Jenna asked.

"I asked her to." I replied. I put Matty down and scratched the back of my neck.

"Why didn't you tell her how you feel?" Jenna asked. I sighed.
