Chapter 12

Ashton´s POV

I went straight to the west hollywood house after dropping off Effy. When I got there, Michael´s car was already there which meant that him and Luke were already back. I opened the door and walked to the kitchen to find Luke sitting on the counter eating a slice of leftover pizza ¨Hi Luke¨ I plainly said, as Luke waved at me while taking a bite from his pizza ¨So, what did you guys do after we left¨ Luke said with his mouth full ¨Nothing, just went to Santa Monica.¨ I said.

¨So.. what about Effy?¨ Luke asked after a few seconds ¨What about her?¨ I asked with a defending tone ¨Do you like her or something?¨ I stayed quiet for a few seconds until Luke answered for me ¨Figured, she´s just another hook up isn´t she? you´re way too selfish for something else.¨He said as he took another bite from his pizza. What the hell? since when is he so fucking rude? ¨Since when do you care about my hookups?¨ I snapped at him  ¨And why do you care so much if I want to hookup with her or not?¨ Luke rolled his eyes and said;

¨Because she's my friend and I care about Effy, I don´t want you to hurt her. I wouldn't tell you this if it was someone else , believe me I don't give two shits about who you hookup with. But Effy's already our friend and we don't want it to be awkward after you use her and get bored of her,  ok? So If you're planning on doing that just move on to someone else because you're not gonna make Mia and I lose a friend."

I sighed, he was right. I wasn't planning on just hooking up with her, but I didn't really know what to do. ¨Luke... this is new for me ok? I actually really like Effy and believe me if I wanted to hook up with her I would have done that long ago. But she´s... different I guess, and it's the first time that  I have actually liked someone like this and I don´t want to fuck up.¨ Luke just stared at me for a while until he finally answered with another sigh ¨I know, just... just don´t hurt her ok? she's my friend.¨ ¨I won´t.¨ I said very sure of my answer.

With that, Luke offered me to play the new game that Michael and him had gotten which I agreed to. We spent the next two hours playing it, but i couldn´t get my mind off the conversation that Luke and I had earlier. Luke was right, I am too selfish to want something more serious than hooking up, but Effy makes me want to have something else. I felt so weird, but maybe it was a good kind of weird.

Effy´s POV

I woke up the next morning, remembering that Mia was picking me up at 11. ¨SHIT what time is it?¨ I said to myself and picked up my phone from the bedside table to see that it was only 9AM, I sighed and got up to get some breakfast so I had time to get ready and everything.

When I got to the kitchen my mom was making her daily banana smoothie ¨Hi honey!¨ she said as I hugged her and she kissed my forehead ¨What happened to your forehead?are you ok honey?¨ she asked worriedly as she touched the band aid. ¨I just tripped and fell it´s nothing to worry about, really.¨ ¨You sure?¨ she asked, and i just nodded in response.

¨Well, do you want a banana smoothie?¨ ¨Sure, why not?¨ I said still sounding a little tired ¨Are you gonna go out today sweetie?¨ she asked ¨Actually, I´m going to the mall with a friend... sorry for not being home for the last couple of days.¨ ¨Effy it´s okay! that´s actually great , someone finally stopped being an antisocial teenager!¨ she joked ¨Oh shut up mom and give me my banana smoothie!¨ I said as both of us laughed.

15 minutes after I finished getting ready, Mia was already outside my house. ¨Bye mom! I´ll text you when I´m back!¨ I exclaimed as I opened the door and got inside Mia´s car. ¨Effy!¨ ¨Hi! sooo where are we going?¨ ¨I don´t know, I was thinking maybe The Americana at Brand?¨ ¨That´s perfect!¨ I said as we drove off my house.
