Fix You (A.I)

Chapter 8

Effy's POV

I woke up feeling someone's arm draped around me,I looked over to the bedside table to look at the time, it was 6AM. As I turned my head to the other side of the bed I saw that it was Ashton's arm that was lazily draped around me and remembered about what had happened a few hours ago. I had a nightmare, the one I always have to be more specific ,but my reaction to it this time  was a little different. I vaguely remember what happened but what I did remember was being woken up by Ashton because of  it and crying a little (since i'm very sensible when I wake up) ,  But didn't remember much about him coming to bed with me. Not that I had a problem with it to be honest. I know that I said that we would talk about it today, but I plan to avoid that conversation as much as I can.

I stared at him for a while, he looked very peaceful while sleeping, his lips were slightly parted and the only sound that could be heard were small snores that came from him. I tried to get up without waking him up because it would be really awkward if i did, but his arm was too heavy and he was holding me too tightly. I grabbed his arm and slowly tried to push it away from me but as I was doing it, he pulled me even closer to his chest and mumbled something that I couldn't understand.

After 5 minutes of trying to get up without waking him I gave up, so i just turned my back to him and decided to go back to sleep, I still had a few hours before heading back home, I didn't want to bother anyone with my presence tomorrow, well today ,whatever.

I was woken up by someone talking, but couldn't make up what they were saying since I was still half asleep, so I decided to ignore it. After a while, the voices became a little clearer and heard Ashton whisper-shouting something.

"of course not, she's.. different. Something else happened. Look, it's a long story, I'll tell you later ok?.. yeah I'll ask her when she wakes up." and with that, he stopped talking and sat back on the bed, making it sink a little. I decided that i wasn't saying or asking anything about his conversation while I was "asleep", and just pretend that I was the whole time, even though I was still a little curious about what he was saying. I suddenly felt a hand tuck a loose strand of hair behind my ear, I was a little startled by it so my eyes shot open as his hand stopped moving right behind in my ear.

Ashton's POV

I woke up to someone calling my name.I opened my eyes and searched around the room to find Calum leaning against the door frame "Ashton!" he whisper shouted. "What is it Calum?" "Why is she in your bed? did you guys..." Calum said as he smirked "No, no, no. We just fell asleep like this." I said as I stood up and walked towards him "Why not? you used to bring Hayley all the time and hook-"  "Hannah"  "Whatever, a hoe is a hoe. So, why didn't hook up with Effy? wasn't she a one night stand?" Calum said clearly surprised. "Of course not, she's.. different. Something else happened. Look, it's a long story I'll tell you later ok?" I said trying to end with our conversation."Well then, We're gonna be watching netflix if you want to join us, Mia is obviously choosing mean girls or some chick flick so Effy might want to watch it too." he said as he sounded a little annoyed when he mentioned Mia wanting to watch a chick flick "Yeah, I'll ask her when she wakes up" Calum just respoded with a nod and walked away. I walked back to the bed and sat on it as I logged into twitter and after replying to a few mentions I turned off my phone and put it on the bedside table.

I thought about what happened last night, I really want to know what made her cry so much. I looked over at Effy who was still asleep and noticed that there was a loose strand of hair in the middle of her face so I decided to tuck it behind her ear, hoping that she didn't wake up because of it.

But she did.

Her eyes shot open as she turned to me and we stared at eachother for a couple of seconds, not sure what to say until she broke the silence "Goodmorning." "Goodmorning! sorry about that it's just that there was a hair in the middle of your face so i just tried to-" she just giggled and said "it's ok I get it!" I laughed in embarassment, and remembered about the movie Cal and Mia were watching "So the guys are watching a movie, wanna join them?" she just nodded as we walked to where they were.

When we got there we saw everyone laying in the couch, Luke cuddling his gigant plush penguin with Michael next to him, asleep. Calum and Mia were sitting , Cal was in his phone while Mia was watching the movie."Thought you'd never show up! This movie is killing me!" Calum said as he looked up from his phone "Hey! shut up it's my favourite one!" Mia said as he swatted his arm, and Luke high fived her, which made Effy giggle. "What movie are you watching?" she asked them "Mean Girls!" Luke answered excitedly "OH MY GOD IT'S ONE OF MY FAVOURITES!" Effy said as she joined them in the couch.

"if you're from Africa, why are you white?" Effy, Luke, and Mia said in unision, that is what they had been doing for the last 45 minutes, quoting the whole movie. Everytime they said the same line at the same time they would laugh which also made me laugh, and Calum would just roll his eyes at them. " I hate this movie so much" Calum whispered to me "It's not THAT bad.." I said, never taking my eyes off the Tv. "Yeah, because you haven't watched it over 9000 times!" Calum said emphasizing the nine thousand.

As the movie ended , it was almost 2pm. Mia and Effy were talking about something and laughing every once in a while. Michael and Luke had to leave early because of some game being released and Michael wanted to get it. "Babe! I told my mom that I would be there for lunch, can you drop me off?" Mia told calum "sure, I'll go grab your bag just wait a sec!" Cal said as he went upstairs. "Well guys, We'll have to leave you both here!" Mia said as she stood up "Oh and Eff, I'll text you so we can go the mall tomorrow ok?" "Sure!" Effy said while smiling, they hugged and said their goodbyes, "Bye guys! i'll be back in a while." Calum said as he got out of the house.

And like that, Effy and I were left alone in the house.
