A Vampires Pet

Hunting

I slowly open my eyes and squint at the bright light that is coming through the windows.

I scan the room looking for someone but I'm all alone. Then I notice things that I haven't notice before like how the bookshelf has dust all over it and how I can see every detail in the cobweb in the corner.

Vampire sight, I'm a vampire.

As this dawns on me, I sit up from my bed and I'm overwhelmed by memories.

I had a baby girl, where is she?

I sniff the air and realize I can smell everything, but I catch a hint of something that smells really good.

I'm almost out of the door when Luke stops me.

"Luke!" I cry and hug him.

"Princess I thought I lost you" He mumbles into my hair.

"Your alittle stronger then me right now so take it easy" He laughs and prys away from the hug.

"What's that smell" I ask and sniff the air once again, my mouth watering.

"That....is our daughter" He smiles.

"I want to see her" I say but he stops me.

"You need to hunt first" He says and shows me out the back door.

"Race you" I say and dash into the woods smiling.

"No fair!" He yells as he trys to keep up.

It doesn't even feel like I'm moving, I wonder how fast I am going?

I see so many things it's insane, I see every detail on a tree, I see a tiny ant hill ten feet away, it's so cool my senses are so much better.

Then a smell something that makes me stop running.

What is that? An animal? Or a human?

"Luke, what is that?" I whisper my mouth watering.

He is standing behind me and he closes his hands over my eyes.

"Use your senses" He whispers back.

I hear chopping of teeth, so this animal is eating....grass! And I can smell meat, juicy deer meat!

"It's a deer" I say feeling happy about myself.

He nods. "Where?" He asks uncovering my eyes.

I scan the area not seeing anything, then I close my eyes and use my hearing.

"About....sixty no seventy feet north" I tell him and now I can't help it I race in the direction.

I am so thristy!

Once I see the deer I stop and try to be as careful as possible, I don't want it to run away.

As if it would win.

I smirk and try to focus on what I'm about to do, I don't even notice that Luke is sitting beside me.

Then I hear a soft growl and quickly scan the area. That's when I see the cougar.

It's black fur looking dazzling in the hot afternoon sun, then I realize that that cougar is hunting my deer.

I have no choice but to take out the cougar, if I take out the deer the cougar will pounce.

Before I lose my confidence I jump a good twenty feet and tackle the cougar.

It's a hard fight, I have never done this before, but it's still sorta fun in a way.

Once I'm done draining the cougar the burning isn't so strong.

"How come you drank from me and not just animals?" I wipe the side of my mouth with my black shirt.

"Because" He runs to me wrapping his arms around me. "I just had to taste you"

I blush at this, we'll I think I do.

Can vampires blush?

Looking at his expression I'm guessing that is a yes.

"Let's go home, time for you to meet our daughter" He says to me grabbing me hand.
