Chapter 6-Kody's Little Secret

-Sherry's Pov-

'Kody has been acting meaner towards Lumine.' I was thinking before getting rudely interrupted by Kody shouting at Lumine.

"Kody! Get your ass down here!" I yell, I could hear him yelp in fear but come downstairs. "Um what do you what?" He asks, his little greedy ass asks me.

"Why are you so mean to Lumine? What did he ever do to you?" I ask interrogating him. "I'm not he's just being too annoying and clingy. I just don't like him ok!" Kody yells before storming off to his room.

"Brat..." I said under my breath.

-Lumine's pov-

I heard Kody and Sherry yelling, then out of the blue I hear; "I just don't like him ok!" Then stomping and then a loud slam. It was Kody, he seemed upset.

I couldn't help but feel guilty and a burden. I was living in a house correction, a mansion with food, water and a bed. This all felt like too much and for what, what was I really doing??
I started to feel myself slip away, I was crying.

I must've fallen asleep cause the next thing I heard was my door creak open. I felt a hand on my back, I jump and spring up. "Woah Lumine, are you ok?" I just stared at him. "I know Kody can be mean with his words but he doesn't mean it. I'm sorry." Aiden reaches towards me, he hugs me and I hug back.

I couldn't hold back anymore I just started crying onto Aiden's shoulder. I felt like he was the only one I could trust. "Lumine listen, if you want you can come down for dinner, but if you don't feel comfortable then you don't have to come down."

Aiden got up and left closing the door behind him. I shit the lamp off and laid back down, I really felt like I didn't belong but Aiden made it seem like I did. 'Do I?'

-Kody's pov-

Early that morning Kody couldn't sleep, thinking about what he had done, what he had said to Lumine the other day. It didn't sit right with him so he decided to text Elijah.

I fall back to sleep and wake up around 9:30 AM. 'Damnit I over slep!' I think as I fall out of bed. I quickly get dressed by putting on t-shirt sweat pants and a hoodie. I run out of my room and downstairs to the living room.

Lumine was sitting on the coach playing video games with Silver. "What're you guys playing?" I call out. "Oh it's just an GPG game, you wanna play?" Silver calls out.

"Um no thanks I'll just watch." I said sitting down on the other couch. They play for an hour then Silver had to leave to do his chores.

Kody got up and sat where Silver had been sitting, the opposite end of the couch. "Hey Lumine."

"Hmm, yes?" Lumine shyly answers pausing the video game. "Have you ever liked anyone before? I mean as more then a friend." I picked up a controller and Lumine unpaused the game.

"Once, why?" Lumine asked. "Why? I didn't mean it like that I was just-" I was cut off in the game and in speech. "No I get it, it's fine. Me and her dated for 2 years until she was killed by her family for betral and no I'm not getting into it more." He said in a serious tone.

"Oh I'm sorry, I didn't-"

"Like I said before, it's fine. I have to get going actually." Lumine put the controller down and got up to leave, he put his shoes on and opened the door. "See you later." I call out to him and all I get in return is a; "yeah whatever." Then a slam of a door.

I pulled out my phone to text Elijah.
