Chapter Six
Hate me
I opened my eyes to see the sun shining through my window making my face all warm and I smiled. "F*ck." I groaned. I woke up. Now I'm going to have to face Curtis... AGAIN. That bastard. I slid out of bed and waddled downstairs. "Good morning, Rylee, darling." Lillian cooed and my eyes wen wide. "Lillian. Wow, I haven't seen you since I got here." I smiled and she hugged me. "Oh, I know, my husband and I have been constantly busy with work affairs and charity affairs and we've been running around like chicken's with our heads cut off. But, enough about me darling, how are you? How are you getting along with Curtis?" she asked and I burst out laughing mentally but remained composed on the outside. "I've been doing great and Curtis and I... are getting along just fine." I assured her and she smiled. "I'm so thrilled to hear that." she whispered tears coming to her eyes. "Lillian, what's wrong?" I asked and she broke down in my arms. "What's wrong?" I asked again and she reached for a tissue on the kitchen table. "It's so hard being his mother, Rylee..." she sobbed and I felt my face go to my serious listening face, which was rare. "Nothing makes him happy and he hurts himself and when he does that he doesn't realize that it hurts others too. I feel as though I'm a failure as a mother and nothing I do will be good enough." I frowned. "It's not your fault, he's just a teenager. He's going through a lot of frustration and anger. You also have to realize he probably didn't want this arranged marriage and it definitely didn't improve the situation..." she shook her head. "I know, I know, but it's the family tradition and he never picks the right girls. He picks Jezebel's and hussy's... very, how should I put this... easy girls. You at least have self-respect. Since we're helping you now. You're only going to become better and better person. Even though I already think you're lovely for sitting here and listening to an old bird's problems." she chuckled and I shook my head, "It's no problem, Lillian, you're helping me. It's the least I can do in return." I smiled and she smiled back. "Well, that's enough bawling for today. How about some breakfast?" she asked and I nodded. "That sounds great.".

Band practice today. I didn't spend it talking to Curtis. I spent it talking to the guys and working on my spelling so I could write a song, because I have the words in my head it's just that when I write them down it's wrong. "Hey lady, whatcha doin?" Kyle asked plopping down beside me on the couch. "Working... I'm trying to write a song." I said and he smiled, "That sounds great! We have a gig coming up for the homecoming dance, y'know? Maybe you could play it then? Only if it's ready, of course." he suggested and I smiled, "That would be great, but I think I should run it by the whole band before I make the decision... They need to learn how the song goes." I explained and he nodded patting my shoulder, "Well, you take your time, we got three weeks before the dance and-", Curtis cut him off, "Kyle, we need you for the song, man..." he said politely and Kyle hopped up and walked to the drums. Curtis was about four meters in front of me, as for the rest of the band and it was kind of like my own private concert.
[(Alright here's where the little song part comes in... of course you don't know how it goes... because there's no actual music... but use your imagination people I can't do ALL the work for you. Just read the lyrics and hum a tune or something... sing it how you think an emo boy would sing it... like at first it's kind of "into your arms the Maine" sort of tempo then it picks up at the chorus line and the at the part where he's all like "You're not so blah blah blah... it's more like... angry, kind of... OR you could just skip the song all together and see how she reacts at the end... your choice!) and in the brackets it's back up vocals by the band xD]
