Ashley's POV

I stood at the graveside, feeling a mixture of confusion and hurt. This wasn't true, was it? He couldn't have died so easily. But it all seemed surreal. I was present physically but my brain failed to process the words. My brother was giving his tribute while my mind kept filling up with questions.
'Is this true?'
'How did it happen?'

These were questions I seemed not to have the answers to. Try as I did not to cry, I found a tear slowly streaming down my cheeks. I quickly wiped it with the back of my hand.

"Wake up Ashley! You're gonna be late for school." I heard my mom say. I fluttered my eyes open to see her standing in the doorway as she does every morning of school. Knowing that she wouldn't leave me alone until she saw that i was up, I stumbled out of bed and into the bathroom, just across the room.

I quickly made my way into the shower and let the warm water run down my body to calm me down. Then the images from the dream popped up in my head.
It was just a dream. I sighed in relief. I considered the thought od it actually happening in reality.
Would i be sad or neutral? Would it hurt?

Not being able to answer those, I stepped out of the shower and towards the sink to brush my teeth and get my hair done. It took me about 20 minutes after which I  went to the bedroom. I quickly picked an outfit and got dressed. I decided on black jeans with a one shoulder t-shirt and the other having a cold-shoulder sleeve. I decided to wear my Vans Old Skool in addition. I slung my backpack on my shoulder and looked into  the mirror. My outfit was quite good.
