Chapter 6

We walked out of the grocery shop trying  to balance all the bags. I walked straight to the backseat and dropped the bags in there. My hands were hurting. Even through that, I couldn't take my mind off what Joel said in there. Sure, I do like him but I'm not sure if I'm ready for another relationship. And besides, Audrey. It felt like I has betrayed her of some sort. I was beyond confused.
"Next left turn" Joel's deep voice snapped me out of my thoughts. I had insisted to drop him off at his house. When we reached, I couldn't help but stare. I was really impressed.
"See you at the party" I said before driving home.

Immediately I arrived, I sent a text to the group chat to inform them that I was home so they could come over.
Chloe: I'm picking Melissa up. Be there in 20
Rosy: Almost there.
Ally: Great. Oh and guys, please don't delay.
Brandon: We can play three FIFA matches and still get there on time.
Kyle: I bet I'll beat you in all of 'em
Brandon: Oh it's on.
Chloe: Guys do you mind, I'm driving.
Brandon: Oh sorry.
Rosy: Ally, I'm outside.
Ally: Have you not heard of a doorbell? On my way downstairs.

I opened the door for Rosy with a rehearsed smile but she shot me a glare. Knowing why, I chuckled slightly. We watched tv for sometime before Melissa and Chloe got here.
Melissa went straight to the kitchen to get started with her sandwiches while the rest of us went upstairs to my room to get dressed. I played some music with my phone via the bluetooth stereo in my room to set the party mood. It worked for me and Chloe and surprisingly for Rosy as well.
I decided that I'd let my friends pick my outfit. I wanted something hot, yet casual and simple. They picked a pair of blue skinny jeans with a white off-shoulder crop top. I decided to wear my new Vans as well.
Chloe did our hair for us and I did our makeup. Melissa was right. It took her only 20 minutes to get ready even after making her sandwiches and taking her time to eat them. She still looked perfect.
Melissa wore a white skirt with a blue long sleeve top. She slung a small white bag on her shoulders and black heels. Chloe also wore a white skirt, but hers was crossed at the bottom and a sort of beige nudish elbow-sleeve top. Rosy looked sweet and innocent and hot at the same time in her green playsuit which had cuts at the fronts and sides. I was sure we'd have problems shooing the boys off.
All in all, we all looked killer. I was so ready for the party. As if on cue, the boys arrived in Brandon's Tesla Model X. They all came inside looking like hot alien invaders. I grabbed my phone, some lipstick and other necessities and went down to me them. They were all laughing and having fun. At that moment, I felt glad and lucky to have them in my life. That was when I noticed Joel, in all his handsome glory. His shirt highlighted his six packs and I quickly averted my eyes before they took over my thoughts too.
"We should get going " I said.
"Shall we?" Brandon asked Chloe with his arm ready to accept Chloe's in it.
"Certainly, we shall" she faked a British accent while linking her arms with his.
They led the way out the door and the others followed. When Rosy was leaving however, I saw Kyle whisper something to her. Though I didn't hear it, I guessed it was a compliment because she started blushing profusely and it amused me.
I felt a hand on my waist and I was slightly shocked by the sudden contact. I relaxed and let him lead me out of the house. I locked up the place and walked to my car. I gave the keys to Rosy and asked her to drive. She usually stayed sober so she was our driver for the night.
I hopped into the passenger seat with Melissa and Chloe in the back.
"Is there something going on Ally?" Chloe inquired with her 'Don't lie voice'.
"Nothing.  Why?"
"Between you and Joel" Melissa added.
"Oh you noticed too" said Chloe 
I started blushing again but thankfully, they couldn't see because it was dark and i was in front.
"Uh..." How do I even tell them?
"Go on" Melissa urged.
"I went with him to buy the groceries and he admitted to liking me and I also said I like him back. But later I started to think it was a mistake." I sighed in frustration. They all started giggling and I smirked at how childish they were being.
"Relax. I said I'm having doubts and here you are giggling."
"Look Ally, you're very mature and I believe you know what's best for you." Melissa started.
"Yeah. Just do what you think is right and even if you make a mistake with that, we'll always be here for you. Okay?" Chloe added.
"You guys are the best. Literally" I had tears in my eyes but I refused to let them fall.
"Awww...aren't we the best" Rosy said which earned the laughter of everyone.
Chloe connected her phone to the player in the car and played us some good music. We all sang along to the songs we knew and hummed to the ones we didn't know by heart. We could hear the music blasting as we got nearer and nearer. The boys reached before us but were kind enough to wait for us before heading inside.
"Did Jenna come?" ,I asked Adam.
"Yeah she's probably inside"
"Alright"
As soon as we entered, everyone's eyes were on us. A few girls shot us glares and some guys smirked and winked at us.
After making small talk with a few people from school, Chloe and Rosy decided to join the boys at the poolside. Melissa and I went to grab drinks from the kitchen. We saw Kayden and he smiled and walked over to us, offering us drinks. We gladly accepted them. We were in a conversation but I decided to excuse myself in hopes of finding Joel. I spotted Adam and Jenna heading upstairs, probably to the bathroom. Those two were quite the couple. I spotted Joel from a corner and he seemed to be talking to someone. I sneaked up behind him in an attempt to surprise him. But when I saw him talking to Audrey, I wanted to abort my mission. I quickly turned around in an attempt to escape before he saw me.
Unfortunately, that was the time he also happened to turn around and call out my name. I slowly turned around, meeting his gaze. I took a glimpse of Audrey and something like hurt flashed through her eyes but she turned around and walked towards the group of girls chatting in the living room. I didn't think Joel saw it because he went on to ask what I was doing there.
"I....I uh..I'm going to fill my cup" I stammered. A small laugh escaped his lips which left a smirk plastered on his face.
"Your cup isn't empty "
My face reddened in mortification. Way to go girl. Very smooth.
He let out a small laugh and grabbed my hand. It wasn't until I heard Kayden's voice that I realized that we were in the living room. There weren't a lot of people around. They must be outside in the pool.
"Okay guys, spin the bottle. If you're in come take a seat." Kayden's voice sounded through the crowd.
"I'm gonna play. Will you?" I turned to ask Joel.
"Yeah I'll just grab us a few chips to munch on" he replied and went towards the kitchen.
I spotted Melissa and she had already taken a seat. I walked over to her side and took a seat, asking her about the party. A few more came to sit, waiting for the host to start the game. Joel also came in with two bags of chips in hand. I scooted closer to Melissa to create room for him. He apologized to Melissa for not bringing her some chips as well, since he didn't see her here.
"It's fine. I'll share with Ally." Was her response which did not please me. Melissa knew that but she played innocent.
Kayden also came and took the last spot which was beside Melissa. He started to explain the rules which weren't many.
"Okay guys, so first off you have to kiss the one the bottle lands on unless he or she is of the same gender. In that case, you have to take 6 shots of Vodka and if you can't finish it, you have to do a very crazy dare." 

Our small circle cheered in support.

The rules sounded interesting. It was good I hadn't drunk a lot since we got here. 

Joel spun the bottle first and it landed on Kayden. He took his six shots without hesitating. I was next. The bottle landed on Joel and I felt a warm feeling in my body. He leaned in from beside me and planted a kiss on my lips. 

So the game continued with some of us sharing quite heated moments. Those who couldn't  kiss, took their shots willingly though I was dared to jump into the pool when i couldn't take all of mine. I was a bit tipsy so I didn't really bother. Besides, it was fun.
